As soon as i win 6-7 games in a row in QP. Does this mean that the matchmaker is trying to find better players ?
I thought there was no such thing in QP? I get punished with longer queues because i happen to do very well AND win?
What’s the point in playing QP then?
Even with GM mmr, I’ve never really had queues above 3-4 mins, usually 1-2 mins. But I wouldn’t play (unranked) if queues were 5+ mins (support only)
I played really well a couple of games in a row and basically stomped the other team as Widow and suddenly queue became awfully long.
It feels like the matchmaker is really trying to make me lose by searching for the best possible players.
It took 6 minutes to get into the last game and i played against 3 players with “top 500” titles and the other two with “Grandmaster”.
It’s so obvious and boring what the matchmaker is doing in QP just because i played really well for a few games.
If this is what happens when you play really good for a few good games then i might as well throw for a while to get insta queue.

They literally just did an MMR soft reset…
And yet i instantly get to play against top 500s and GMs with massive queues?
Current queues: Tank 7 minutes, dps 6 minutes and support 6 minutes. I thought the matchmaker was completely random in QP, mixing all sorts of players to make the queues instant?
Do i have to throw my games now to get better queues or what?

Everybody’s matchmaking calibration is kinda poorly defined right now. And that kinda slows things down.
Also, by chance, are you queuing for Support?

No, i have 7 minutes queue as DPS.
Whoever told you this was lying or has no idea what they are talking about.
Quickplay has MMR, it’s just more loose on the matching.
But everybody has an MMR setting, and what they did was move everybody closer to “the middle ELO”.
Contracted the bell curve inward.
And now it’s going to expand back out.
Which means a lot of people moving away from the middle.
So below average MMR players, as a group, are gonna lose a lot of matches
Same here. Queue times are awful, never had such long queue times. 10 min+ no matter what mode I play. And I don’t play against top players, it’s the usual stomp or be stomped but with longer queues. I swear to God, this guys have no clue how to fix this game
So this basically means that i could be stuck with longer queues, unless i throw? My queues were instant for a day or so but now it’s back to pre-reset with 4-7 minutes.

Why would you think quickplay doesn’t have matchmaking?
It does…it’s just very loose.
No, they just hid everyone’s ranks and make you do placements again. Your MMR has not been reset.
I’ve been told more times than i can count, on this very forum, that there is no such thing.
It’s apparently not that loose then considering how fast i get “moved” to a certain group of players which also gives me long queue times.
This SUCKS because i cba to sit in long queues. I often just cancel my queue and quit the game when it goes over 4 minutes.
I don’t know if it EXPLAINS the queues you’re seeing…but yes QP has an mmr and your pool of potential teammates/opponents changes along with it (I don’t it’s every game though - I get feeling it does so every 5 games or so)

The devs have explicitly stated multiple times that QP has matchmaking. I think they may have even mentioned it in their latest blog update post. I guess the people on the forums would probably tell you that the devs are lying about how their game works though, and you would probably believe them, lol.
Looks like i had to throw for one week to start getting better queues and better games overall. There was no other way.

I was deep stuck with only tryharding GMs/top 500s and LOOOONG queues for some reason.
Are you stacking? Might be that.
