‘‘supports’’ are the problem with this game.
why have dps when you can play supports capable of getting dps level e:d ratios AND have healing/support abilites.
supports dps capablilites need nerfs, does lucio really need headshot ability where he can half clip squishies with good enough aim/lucky hs shots.
the only support who should be having anything like a dps e;d is zen and he pays for that by having to actually aim and being very vulnerable to flankers.
why even bother with roles, just overload every character with tanking, healing and dps abilites and there wouldnt even be this problem.

Those ratios are meaningless. You get an elim for doing 1 damage to an enemy. That proves nothing.

Otherwise, yes, Brigitte and Anas overloaded kits being stacked ontop of the other supports that can deal damage and have amazing utility did mess up the game.

Supports aren’t healers. It’s their job to help secure kills, protect the team, or just generally enable everyone else. They’re always going to seem too strong if you think of them like healers from any other game with traditional tank/dps/healer roles. They don’t fit that structure and they aren’t meant to.

IMO its the opposite problem from what your saying. Too many DPS have healing capabilities. If the DPS and tanks couldnt heal themselves it would make the Support role actually have to do what theyre supposed to do. Support. This is horrible composition IMO, but you could have a Hog, Mei, Reaper, Soldier, Ana, Zen and no one would actually have to worry about healing anyone but themselves, and there in lies your problem.
Elims don t matter of you don’t have the damage to back it up
pointless pointing out the obvious in this forums general discussion aka support player lobby. you lot wont be happy untill all supports are invicible and 1 shot anything on sight.
Also i think a better stat would be to look at healers damage output not their K:D. You can get that lucky last shot on someone as a healer and get a kill yeah, but how much of that Kill was the healers responsibility? Probably like less than 10% of the damage on a person was the healer.
Overbuff still uses overwatch’s stats. They get their info from the profiles of the users that they have that set their profiles to public. They dont know the actual amount of kills you get yourself

even then as i said you can get the final blow with ana nade by accident without doing much. Final blow isnt the stat to use i think. Total damage output would be better
If OW used an actually decent and accurate measurement of kill contribution, supports would very often look similar to standard League of Legends K/D/As. The only difference with OW is that there is no “assist”. If you removed the assists from LOL, the winning team’s support would have a loads of elims too.
That might work for support at they’re not so much spammy heroes like tanks who launch chip damage for everything.
That said, average final blows are fairly low as the accidents average out at low numbers.
People are pointing out the flaws in your logic.
People are not saying that healers need to 1 shot people. People are pointing out the flaw in looking at kills to deaths, as you can hit people for 1 point of damage and get kills.
Yeah exactly. If final blows, K/D ratio, and damage per 10 mins were the same, then maybe there’s a problem, but rn a moira can just be throwing in an orb of 6 people that got grav’d + nanobladed, and still get the same kill credit as the genji and zarya

and you wouldnt be happy unless all supports could do nothing but heal and get killed… If overwatch had no supports in this game then it would just be any other FPS and thats boring.

Also wouldnt you expect that hero’s that can heal themselves have higher KD ratios? With the exception of Zen, who has shields that recharge, all supports can heal themselves or like Mercy heal OOC passively. It should be harder to kill them skewing their KD ratio to be higher.

Funny thing is, i have LITERALLY seen a moira still POTG this way. she did lower total damage but to more targets and got POTG for it lol
