4 hours until spotlight broadcast announcing “THE BIGGEST CHANGE IN OVERWATCH HISTORY” lol. If it wasnt for the fact they are paying to fly out all of the streamers i would half expect it to be a troll to announce shutting down the game. Still think it will most likely be skill trees/ customizable passives after the popularity of junkensteins lab last year.
Theyve been playing with abilities and passives for awhile now.
Yall are building this up too much….im going to laugh when the stuff that gets shown is just stuff they’re working on and most of it is not ready yet…or just not actually groundbreaking (which is prob a good chance)

Absolutely not. At least, definitely not for PvP. That’s way too much stuff to balance considering that there are 40+ heroes and each would have at least 3 different talents to choose from.
The game is already impossible to balance. Adding Talents wouldn’t change that. But it would at least make things more fun

Not really. Dont think anyone actually believes there will be game warping changes but its hilarious how much publicity blizzard has been sinking into this.
Every champion in Paladins comes with three talents and 20 ability customization cards, despite the dev team being undoubtedly smaller than Blizzard’s. It’s not impossible—they’re just lazy.
Yall really need to set higher standard for this dev, that’s why they keep doing the bare minimum and people will still eat it up.

I’m expecting AI integrated into the workshop, destructible environments and the re introduction of the missing maps. I’m not expecting anything like mutations or moba related.
Our constant insistence on “balance” is killing this game. Forget balance. Let’s do something that makes the game fun. They could roll out talents and passives and things would be fun.
What made the the game fun in 2017 was chaos. We didn’t know what we were doing and there was a wackiness to attempting to learn what worked that was fun. We don’t have that any more. I’ll give you a guess which game does.
I’m definitely not letting the devs off the hook for their mistakes, but “MUH BALANCE” is decidedly the wrong direction.
I mean, they sunk a ton of publicity into a cancelled project that they made us wait like 3 years in a content draught for. My expectations are so low, I’m nearing the earth’s core. So far, Blizzard STILL manages to set the bar lower every time.

All the gold rank “balance” wannabe GM/streamer brigade keep throwing the term balance around to sound edgy when a) it doesn’t affect them at all and b) it is impossible to achieve their idea of perfect balance in a game of this size with so many variables. It is mathematically impossible to do so when taking into account hero interactions, map designs and so on.
Paladins is on a similar level as OW balance wise when it comes to ensuring the majority of the roster is perfectly playable - even in high level. Nobody cares about the top 0.001%, except the top 0.001%, so catering a whole design philosophy around that number is stupid and is exactly the reason why OW2 is stagnating and losing players.
If Hi-Rez, a relatively much smaller company with hideous management can manage to achieve a similar balance level with more characters and huge amount of customization involved, there is literally 0 excuse as to why Blizzard cannot.
The game needs customization and it has already proven it can work in principle. Blizzard should balance to a certain degree and only to ensure every character is viable - not meta. Listen to the majority of people who actually want to have fun and just go crazy with what they cooked during PvE.

I will wait for the summaries by youtubers the next day, first I will laugh hysterically, then I will cry while rolling on the floor in psychological pain in the face of so much accumulated incapacity.
I love all of the comparisons to paladins. Didnt hi rez have a massive layoff last week and cancel all further development for paladins? Or am i misremembering?

Im not hyped at all. Overwatch 2 has been bad since season 3, dont get high hopes folks, it can end badly.
Im more hyped for upcoming great games like The First Berserker Kazan, Clair Obscur 33, Doom Dark Ages, Wolverine, Death Stranding 2, Ghost Of Yotei, Nintendo Switch 2 console and many more
I had a structural inspector at my house last week, and just finished boarding the windows. Hopefully when this earth shaking news happens it’ll hold. There’s no major fault lines around here, should be fine.
