3.3k but can't carry in plat

Title. I have a 3.1 acc and this 3.3 acc. But my 2.7 acc is hard stuck. Pretty dumb.

I know the feeling. 3.6, went on a loss streak with my duo, playing solo to get out of 3.3 again. Absolute hell.

I BARELY won that game, it was super close. 33 crits, 38/8, 29 of my 38 kills were final blows, best killstreak was 12. Almost lost.

Plat is really the worst rank. It’s such a mess, but I’ve never figured out why. Maybe too many alt accounts from different ranks? Dunno. In my experience high-rank players usually smurf in diamond, so idk.

You didnt?

Maybe because diamond players smurf in mid/high plat?

Hi its Därien/Maven btw

Hey

Well, you are rank below yours. Of course its not easy to climb back to your elo. Depends what do you mean by hardstuck. How long? Do you play every days as before when you reached mid dia? You can play diff heroes too maybe? A lot of things can influence that.

High plat and above is full of smurfs so its really not easy rank to escape.

People play different in low ranks and you might have to play the “wrong” way to adjust to how they play. It sounds weirs but could be it.

To be fair if you’re high plat you should play as good as a diamond player since that’s the point where you’re transitioning to the next rank. However I do agree its difficult to escape as its LOADED with smurfs. Every one of my friends who’s diamond+ has contested that plat to diamond is the worst rank border to cross.

Masters players Smurf in plat. Lol. This is nothing new. Gm players Smurf in diamond. Smurfing is one of the problems with this game.

Rule of thumb is you need to smurf 2 ranks below your level to hard carry. If you’re a diamond, you can get out of plat but it’ll take time if you’re not lucky. Trust me, I know.

Ya, i am diamond player but games start to get hard around high plat. High plat vs low plat are basically different elos in terms of skill. I can hard carry low plat no problem, but high plat is where you start to see the smurfs with godlike aim

Went from 28xx peak down to 2200 at one point. Back to 2500 and climbing. Can’t wait to see what the weekend holds for players.

I recently fell down to 2100 from 2900 and the games down here are even harder. It’s such a broken system, really

I think mid-high plat is the rank where there are a lot of smurfs followed by a lot of low plat players that are good sports but have no skill.

basically if you really want to get out, I think the fastest way is to help micromanage your bad players. not yelling or complaining because of course they can’t carry or get value, but talking in voice chat to try to ensure that player’s dumb decisions are minimized and don’t result in a loss.

Every time I have cared enough to climb to diamond that has been necessary for me at least.

And I have an account in 3.3k and 2-3 at 3.1k too.

I dunno. I’ve kind of lost interest in playing overwatch lately because of leavers and hackers, but mostly the leavers.

I also think that personal performance should be a much larger portion of SR gains and losses

Probably your right skill rating is ~2700, and you just get hevy carried over 3000 for two other accounts.

the game is not about carrying, it’s about being best for your team (it’s not team death match)

so stop trying to carry and throw games that way, you are not 500% better than a plat. just play your role to your best capabilities and be better at it than the enemy on that same position

SR is not at all a science.

That’s because of one of the following:

You’re being queued with/against other plat “smurfs.”

—or—

The matchmaker recognizes your good stats and is matching you with terrible players (with bad stats) to balance out your projected % chance to win.

Could not agree more with this.

I know there is a heavy debate about people using VC or not using VC to do better, but it can cripple plays made by shotcallers who are trying to pull their team together. Too many people focus on conversation and screeching can be a problem too but… as long as you are confidently calling shots and actively addressing your team in an encouraging but stoic manner, you can micromanage them to victory. So long as you ignore the stupid, the annoying and the rebellious and continue to focus on the fight.

Peak SR for a given account isn’t that account’s baseline and the heavy SR compression issues don’t kick in until GM. So ranges of a few 100 up and down don’t really mean anything. The lower your SR, the wider the range to being all more or less the same.

It’s not like low plat is all that much better than high gold.
