How notable is the difference between these two? I’ve only ever had and seen a 60hz screen but I’m planning on getting a 300hz screen laptop. Is it worth it?
Probably awful color quality and viewing angles since I doubt you’d find a 300hz IPS panel on a laptop.
Motion will look slick (assuming you can maintain anywhere near that framerate), but if you’ve been gaming on 60hz lcd monitors your whole life, 120hz is still going to look and play a lot better too. (Hell, even 75 feels like a major jump.)

There ya go
Some more. One is 240hz I think. All are IPS panels. 3ms seems to be the common response:

Most likely it’ll be extremely noticable, especially if it can run 300hz, but the difference between that 300hz panel and a 144hz panel might be imperceptible to you. I would suggest looking at both 140hz and 240hz screens before jumping straight to 300 and judging for yourself because there’s a lot of mixed opinions.
One of the dirtiest marketing schemes I’ve seen in trying to sell 300 or 360hz panels is that they’ll show journalists a 60hz game, and then go straight to 300+hz with no inbetween. So they act fascinated, because they probably have never used anything inbetween.
After about 144 hz, you start to get diminishing returns. I would get a 144hz with a good display.
you’ve got some crazy nasa tech in a 300hz laptop screen
But can the laptop run ow in 300 fps?
It will be a night and day difference.
I have a 144hz monitor and it’s enough. You could go up to 240hz but you also need 240 fps to match that.
Razer Blade Pro 17 2020
I changed to a 240 Hz screen months ago. the first difference I noticed was Ashe’s zooming.
I used to think that it was an instant change from the regular view to the zoomed view.
Now I see a super smooth zooming process between the views.
But for shooting accuracy? well… that’s a different story
I just switched from 60hz pc to 300hz laptop in june, and the game is a lot more smooth (its more noticeable with higher frames but only 60 fps is necessary imo). You can still be amazing with 60hz but it’s worth it to have more.
Just what now ???..
The difference between 60 and 144 is very noticeable, but the difference between 144 and 240/300 isn’t as noticeable. It’s there but just not as significant.
For your eyes and enjoyment if you have some money to spare? Yes. For improving? Absolutely not.
Also, lately Blizzard has capped FPS at 144, which is weird because it used to be 300,but whatever. So you wouldn’t even get to use the full potential.
I have a 165 hz monitor, though keep in mind I’m not playing on a laptop. It’s better for the eyes and just more pleasant and fun to play with, but it won’t improve your gameplay or anything. Whatever someone can do on 144 hz, they can do on 60 with maybe a few warm-up matches.
I have a 180HZ screen and i can tell you it is very noticeable.
