$30 for a mythic skin?

This is on par with asking why are medals in the game from a game play perspective.

Aeshetics do matter, skins are nice but they are not the game.

How as I defensive? I mean a comment like this , explain how.

You don’t need to pay attention to it for it to have an impact. Skins have an impact on perceptions. Voicelines, emotes, POTG intro’s. All add to the experience regardless of any claim you make.

I think it should be more like:

$3-5 Epic
$10 Legendary
$20 Mythic

I think keep prices in a reasonable range would actually get Blizzard MORE profit because more people would be inclined to spend money on them and justify getting multiple cosmetics

Especially since lots of players will be teens/kids without their own source of income who need to be convincing their parents to pay for these

I know right? I get that people use different measures to assign value to things, but I just can’t figure out a measure that gives these any value. You can’t even resell them.

That price is obscene.

I’ll cop directly . I would even take:
Epic : 5to 10
Legendary : 10 to 15
Mythic : 19.99.

I mean i figured we already had OWL as a reference for skin pricing. 5$ for an epic and 10$ for a legendary.

Bruh Mythic skins have:

  • Customizable model parts (helms/ armor pieces)
  • Different weapon models to choose from
  • Different VFX
  • Different voicelines
  • Unique ULT VFX
  • Customizable details ex. Genji’s tattoos
  • Customizable color schemes

That’s essentially multiple legendary skins in one, I think $20 would be fine. Just my opinion though I guess

You do realize mythic is an entirely new tier of skin we haven’t had before right?
So the $20 price tag isn’t really that insane if you think about it.

And after all it adds to the gameplay experience right? So a $20 flashy skin would add a lot!

Ideally they should’ve made it so that you receive a mythic skin after completing the battlepass

They make the experience more interesting for sure but you are not required to own a skin for you to enjoy the game

First mythic is probably in the bp

This is the most insane thing wacky thing I’ve ever heard. Every line in this makes me feel like I’m on a different planet.

I know people have different priorities, but I flat out refuse to believe someone pays $500 for a skin they can’t actually see on themselves in the game while they’re playing it. Even if I saw someone paying, I wouldn’t believe it.

I don’t think I will consider myself lucky for the price of a battle pass. This whole thing has just got too backwards for me.

I am aware. Still obscene. A third of a standard price AAA title for one skin. Pretty big price tag for something that doesn’t fold my laundry.

20$ for a mythic, fair enough. But the suggested price here is 30 usd

Well let’s be crystal clear on that. They never said that Genji wouldn’t be in the battle pass as tier 100. All info we have is that they think about a price IF mythic ones are someday included in the shop .
But yep 20 should be the max allowed if they want console player on their game.

I’m not gonna justify the price cause 500$ is obviously way too much but you do get to see the cosmetic you purchase in Apex Legends because it’s a melee weapon, for example: Wraith has a Kunai, Revenant has a Scythe, Mirage has a statue of himself etc etc

I remember in another game I used to play, the devs released a $500 gold skin. Everyone crapped all over it and I never saw it in use, not even once.

People who buy those things deserve all the ridicule they get.

I understand your point but by now it’s just default.

Blizzard has been insanely nice to us giving us every cosmetic for free but that just doesn’t hold up anymore to how it works now. Despite everything the company is growing in size and has to pay their workers somehow and one-time sales aren’t really cutting it for a live service game.

Other games have been doing that for a long time. R6 for example has $15 gold skins iirc and we don’t even start talking about CS:GO and Valorant.

No. It’s not . It’s just a question on how much we would pay. Nothing more nothing less.

I do hope the mythic skins will all be battle pass rewards

It’d give me a good reason to grind that battlepass all the way to 100
