I work for an ISP and this is a terrible idea. Hulu Live TV has already taken this approach where your account is tied to your IP address, ignoring that dynamically-assigned IP addresses are typically the standard(meaning your IP address is not necessarily going to stay the same from day to day). It’s been a hassle for our customers that either have to call Hulu support every day or two to connect their account to their new IP address, or they have to unnecessarily lease a static IP address from us; some other ISPs won’t even lease static IP addresses to non-business customers. Assign it to your computer’s MAC address if you have to, but don’t tie it to an IP address.
Your other suggestions are also terrible but I wanted to get the IP address thing off my chest because it’s been such a headache for me lately.
