- 50 or even 60 hp/s chain healing is pretty much useless most of the time. Nowadays, it’s used only for damage boosting.
- Chain beams encourage unskilled, low effort gameplay. With a single beam, Mercy has to prioritize targets. With chain heals, she can just fly right up to the skybox and hold M1 (or rather M2 so she is impactful at least in some way).
- Chain beams ruin her reputation as the best single target healer.
So I took Eevee’s Mercy rework idea and edited it a little…
Valkyrie
- Duration: 10 seconds
- Ultimate charge required: 2150
-
Caduceus staff:
- 100 healing per second
- +50% damage boost
- Removed chain beams
- Removed additional beam reach
And here’s why I think 100 hp/s and +50% dmg boost is not broken…
-
Ana: Nano boost
- 1650 required ultimate charge
- Instant 300 hp burst heal
- +50% damage reduction
- +50% damage powerup
- Ana can use her entire kit while Nano boost is active
-
Moira: Coalescence
- 2125 required ultimate charge, really easy to farm due to her AoE healing
- 140 AoE hp/s (can be combined with her healing orb, which results in 215 hp/s)
- 70 AoE dmg/s (can be combined with her damage orb, which results in 120 dmg/s)
- Requires tracking, but it’s not hard to land consistently because of its large hitbox
- 50 hp/s uninterrupted selfheal
- Self speed boost
- Moira can’t use other parts of her kit.
Let’s apply the proposed changes to Mercy
-
Mercy: Valkyrie
- 2150 required ultimate charge
- 100 single target hp/s
- +50% single target damage powerup
- Allows Mercy to fly
- 20 hp/s uninterrupted selfheal
- Mercy is still allowed to use her other abilities during Valkyrie. However, she can’t do multiple things simultaneously. She has to choose, she’s the one to decide what’s the best for her team.
