3 games with leavers in a row

and then followed by games of constant kill 3-4, and not get a lick of heals, every fight, lol

hitting 30 kills, dps at 9, healers at 1/5th the heals of enemy heals. just wild how awful the matchmaking is in this game and how badly gamequality nosedived since OW1

Leavers are the issue, not matchmaking.

Continuing to blame the matchmaker literally encourages more leavers as they feel more justified in leaving matches.

Stop it.

it’s both. so many leavers. and the games with no leavers, such awful matchmaking. and then you have rock, paper, scissors guaranteeing the worse team wins with the right comp. just not fun

Counter picking and swapping due to match circumstances is not allowing the “worst team” to win. Its allowing the more flexible team with more game knowledge and more versatile hero selection to win.

If you stubbornly stick to your “best hero” even though you’re being hard countered, you are not the better player. You are the one causing the loss.

Yup, I don’t blame it. But there is definitely more and more leavers in my games too.

sure, whatever you say bud. you won because you pressed H in spawn. such engaging gameplay. such skill.

Knowing hero and ability interactions/ counters and group synergy is a huge part of the game, and a big part of being good at the game.

Leaning into your teammates strengths, such as “oh my tank is playing a dive tank, maybe i should go dive dps and roll with them” or “we got sigma, i can lean into that and use him for cover to dump rounds out as soldier, ect.” is a good way to play.

Hard locking your favorite hero and refusing to adjust is selfish and bad play. Its not the matchmaker. Its you.

i have dva and junkerqueen and i switch between them as needed, based on highground usage on the map and how skilless the enemy team are being about trying to win at hero select. this means i fluctuate between diamond and gold lobbies forever while my actual sr stays at plat. the game is dead because they promised they would remove skilless hard countering and rock paper scissors, and never did. so the tank role is dead cause they just let it rot in this nonsense when role passives were supposed to even the playingfield.

Better matchmaking and game interactions reduce leavers.

Leaving matches won’t fix the MM, you’ll just get another trashpile game.

game knowledge is a skill.
Knowing how to counter heroes is a skill.
Flexibility is a skill.

If i go Zarya (who is amazing against dva and decent against queen), your inability to answer that is your lack of skill. Which im guessing for you zarya is your big roadblock here lol.

Rein is good against Zarya btw.

nah, i go jq to deal with zar. it’s never the zar. it’s the switching to zar +kiri +widow +pharah, or like a zar, sym +widow so that i can’t play EITHER hero

this play the spawn noskill nonsense belongs in a cardgame, not an FPS

Oh boy another person pretending like going Zarya against Dva is a big brain play.

Nah. Swapping to a hard counter is the lowest skill thing you can do, an admission that you couldn’t compete on a level playing field and it’s killing the tank role.

It’s end of the season. I don’t think anyone touches comp now

And a lot of times, I don’t even understand why they left. My duo and I had to backfill an Oasis game tonight at the START of the 3rd round. Like literally still 20 seconds left in assemble heroes phase. The match was tied 1-1. It was winnable for both teams. Why leave it?

I just don’t get it. Can’t even say it was a matchmaker issue because clearly both teams did well. All I can think is that at some point during round 2, the red team picked heroes that people on the blue team didn’t want to counter-pick so they just left instead of trying to battle it out. This is the attitude of way too many players these days. As soon as it gets a little challenging, as soon as the enemy asks a little more of you, it’s bye Felicia.

Didn’t get any drop of heal at all? Hmmm……I think the reason come from those people come to wrong game. Only think about killing no team play logic at all.

Exactly, because anyone who can hold down the left mouse button should be able to beat any level of skill or practice on the hero they are a hard counter for. It’s obvious game design.

Yeah, it’s the old bas/phar trash pick in the second round. You could just go bas/phar to make the other team’s experience equally awful, but then you would need a trip to the market to get more soap.

ok but what’s the alternative? purposely put your self at a disadvantage? for what? pride? sense of accomplishment??

Oh it’s not about me having an issue with people swapping but when people then pretend it’s some big brain, high skill play I’ll call them out on it. It’s the opposite.

it’s smarter than staying on the hero you’re being diffed on, it doesn’t change the level playing field at all when everybody has exactly the same opportunity to swap to those heroes too
