I’ve been noticing that a LOT of people in higher ranks (High masters - Mid GM) have been queue dodging 2CP maps. Especially Horizon Lunar Colony and Paris, why aren’t we doing anything about this?
Throughout the 3 years since overwatch’s release competitive players have all had the same one complaint. 2CP, so they eventually ask for map bans or map rotations of some sort and blizzard gives the same answer, that they worked hard on the maps and don’t want to have maps “wiped” from the game. And while their hard work is appreciated, that answer is still so stupid imo. Why are we more worried about the feelings of inanimate code than the players?
Yes the devs worked hard but if the players don’t like it, what’s the point. A restaurant can’t just say “We worked hard on this dish, you have to buy it.” and force someone to order something they don’t want. It’s just illogical and drives people away from your restaurant even though there are dishes they love there. Take that restaurant metaphor and apply it to overwatch. People would rather lose their SR than play most 2CP maps. That’s a problem no matter how you look at it.
I know blizzard loves saying they dont want to do something then ends up doing it, but if there’s anything they’re going to continue that trend with, I think it needs to be map bans and or map rotation. Because the community and myself are all pretty tired of queuing for longer than your average comp match just to have someone queue dodge instantly. Thank you for reading and I hope something gets worked out someday.
It really does put me off from playing knowing that I have a 1/3 chance of playing a terrible game mode on some of the most poorly designed maps in the game. Hopefully they soon give in and give us map bans/voting so we don’t have to put up with this anymore.
And if they’re worried that implementing map voting/banning would wipe maps from the game, maybe that says something about the maps rather than the vote/ban system.

Id like to see a map vote system. Lets say when the game found a match, you have to vote from 3 random maps.

Paris seem too much wrong to me… Point A can be impossible to conquer, with that small opening VS so much OP hero…
Exactly, couldn’t have said it better myself. These are the kinds of things blizzard needs to think about. And on a related note, peace out I just queued into a Horizon game.
Wait. We can queue dodge maps? HOW? I hate 2CP. How do we avoid it?
I would love this, there are some maps that i just cant play my best heroes on (support main) then there are some maps i have been know to do poorly cough busan cough god that and Paris are the absolutely worst maps. Infact ever since 2-2-2 i havent even seen some of the maps. I feel like i keep getting busan, route 66, paris, and most other 2CP matches i havent seen volkskaya this season
I am someone who does this for Horizon and Paris. Last match ban time for me was an hour and thirty if I recall. I don’t like those maps. I do not want to play those maps. I do not want to play any Assault maps. I enjoy all of the other maps the game has to offer, Hollywood is my favorite. Whenever I queue for competitive and see Horizon Lunar Colony or Paris, I lose the smile I have on my face. Now that I’m getting close to higher leaver penalties, I just auto pilot these maps and effectively wait for the map to be over.
I will say that it is odd that blizzard is against map vetoes since both StarCraft and Warcraft have that option. To be realistic and blunt, if everyone vetos the same map, maybe there is an issue with it? Perhaps the map needs adjustments? Id say, groups should only veto 1 map (group leaders choice) and solo get a veto. I understand not hurting the map creators feelings or w/e but when they get passed that and think how can I make it so people enjoy it, then people aren’t forced to play the map but they enjoy it.
just leave, at this point nobody cares bout the ban they will just play another one of there 500 accounts.
It doesn’t really matter if you do leave a game, because the system will then notice that you should be placed higher and then just give you easier games to get you back up there.
Done it a million times.
