Is 24 hours a reasonable enough time to master any hero enough to be able to place that account into a Competitive environment?

Minimum 100 hours to unlock Competitive.
Enough is enough with having to hand hold these new players when it’s BLIZZARDS job to teach them how to play. Not mine. I do not get paid by Blizzard to teach new players how to play Blizzards game.

I just played a game in P1 with a Lucio who didn’t understand how to change from speed boost to heal boost. He had a grand total of 0 healing done, 0 kills, 1296k dmg, 2 kills. Didn’t Drop Beat Once. over a period of 10 minutes.
He said he was new, had bought the game today, played his 50 matches and yoloed in and it placed him in p1 after losing 3/7 placements.
Tell me. That Blizzard, with a known algorithm to skew MMR/SR is putting players where they should be.

Firstly its 50 ‘WINS’ not games played. So nearer 100 games played for an average 50% winrate.
Also, I would jump into competative at the earliest opportunity in any game i played Why ? Because it at least serves some purpose besides ‘enjoyment of the game’ it has a goal, a challenge. It also has team mates or players who take the game seriously enough to learn from.
Anyone whos played even 1000 quick play games is going to find the game a different experience in competative. its a different environment.
As others have said, if you’re in games with brand new players, you’re dogger mate.

People don’t need to master a hero to play competitive.
That’s the whole reason of ranks.
People that don’t master X hero, but uses it a lot, plays on lower ranks.
