20 Mins Queue (Chipsa-DPS)

It’s unreal how much queue time Chipsa got for finding a match as dps. If this is gonna be the season 18 Overwatch it’s time to finish my last season on the game because it’s unjustifiable you’ll have more queue time than gaming time

I don’t care about how much you hate dps players, but it’s a game and everyone enjoy a different hero and different roles and making the game unplayable for who enjoy dps heroes is like direspecting one part of your community.

Hope this MM system will be fixed when it will come officially or people who love your game like me will be forced to uninstall this game

This is a high ranked player on the PTR, to be fair, and only features the smallest portion of the total (distracted by a seasonal event) playerbase. Live queue times will likely be lower, especially in the middle ranks.

I found roleQ on PTR to be really good for queue times, weirdly enough.

took me less than 2 mins to q for dps when it said >10 mins

Insta-queues me when I queue for DPS. I don’t see an issue unless I’m literally in the smallest percentage of the playerbase.
And besides, it’s better to wait than have them be pit against people of lower skill.

same for me on dps it was as fast as live server to found a game

I was getting consistent <2min queue times for DPS, placed 3450. It’s just his MMR and the severely limited player pool on PTR.

You literally, physically cannot be this UNLUCKY.

He is in the top what 1% or less of the playerbase? And he is on ptr. Of course the q time for him is going to be way off. The bulk of the playerbase will never get q times that long.

That’ll show those selfish DPS players to play a different role once in a while!

it’s ptr and he’s gm. I’d take that with a grain of salt.

Don’t worry it won’t be 20 mins for you, because you are probably not as good as chips or in that 1 percent it will take you 5 mins to find a game

20 mins is amazing for ptr grandmaster. We can assume it will be shorter on live and if bkizz somehow does dps search times closer to ten minutes than 15 then I’ll give them mad props, that would be amazing.

I had 13mins+ Queue as a healer yesterday.
I don’t think it’s about the role more than lack of a playerbase in the PTR.

And he is a top 500, so even less players for him to play against.

queue times for GM players are long in general.

i know the forums hate xqc, but for example he interacts with his chat and watches videos with them during queues bc there its just so long. might not always be 20 minutes long, but i know they are usually 7-10 min long.

you also have to consider chipsa is at the top of ladder play. there are not that many players on his skill level. because its the ptr there’s also likely less players on that skill level playing than there are on live.

queue times are probably gonna be 10 minutes long.

People who “enjoy playing DPS” (read: players unwilling to fill for the team under any circumstance) have been ruining the game for everyone else for years though. :man_shrugging:

The way I see it, this is a self correcting issue. Either players are willing to play other roles enough that DPS queues are balanced, or players like you quit, which means there’s fewer DPS players, which means existing DPS players have shorter queue times.

I play a lot of dps too.
And honestly, I’d rather have long queue times rather than have every game be either 3-5DPS or a bunch of DPS mains flexing on to heroes they can’t play and throwing my game.

I know this isn’t everyones POV. Some people just want to play the game no matter how dumb the match may be.

But the game needs this, and hey, there’s still QP Classic for those players.

GM on PTR complaining about queue times

ok

have they though?

i mean for every 4 dps who won’t switch… 1 of them is better than the rest lol.

To me it’s like going to work and having someone new ask if they can drive the company vehicle. I always tell them no. My boss trusts me to operate it and work isn’t about having fun, it’s about getting the job done and to make it to and from the job site safely.

they might be able to drive well. but i don’t know them. and i can drive just fine. so i don’t trust them to drive.

it seems very standoffish but a lot of players who play like this climb because they know what they are good at and stick to it.

I swap sometimes. Very rarely. But sometimes. It’s just like… I’ve put over 500 hours into DPS heroes. Why would I play a Support or a Tank? I don’t have the pacing down and I don’t like having to rely on others. Haven’t I put in the time? Wouldn’t I be worse in another role I haven’t tried to be good at?

ppl just get angry because there are so many people like that but idk dude… if you can play 10 DPS heroes I think you have earned the right to refuse to flex for less knowledgable and experienced players.

and when you start to see the dps healers and dps tanks, what then?
I played on ptr yesterday and in a couple of matchs we had that going on
