Huh? In open queue? There is no role discrimination in open. You just queue for it and then you can lock DPS after the ban phase.
I meant role queue is 6v6. My bad. I ended up not playing 6v6 after a couple matches because the queue jumped to 20 minutes.
This thread wasn’t making much sense because my masters 6v6 queues are great and you can’t queue for dps in 6v6 open queue. But I thought about it, op is probably queueing dps on overwatch classic which explains the long queues because most players in that queue just want to play old doomfist.
Must be RQ.
Just goes to show how fatal RQ was to the game back then - as it is today.
the OW classic mode? I figure most people just try it out of nostalgia or novelty. It’s not something that lasts much.
I might suggest you try the OQ 6v6. It’s very fast for matches and people are quite resonable with picks.
They are referring to the OWC 6v6 mode which uses role queue.
must have been a different mode… 6v6 is open.
It was OW classic. It has role queue.
I gladly sit through a 12min q time in owc.
I hope this wasn’t the last owc that features role q.

Ahhh. just like OW1, brings back memories. i used to be able to play multiple rounds of gungame in custom lobby before i got a DPS game
The dps role in classic is just too appealing, especially compared to the old 8 tanks
I’ve got no experience of my own since I just play Max 2 Tanks instead, but there was a thread the other day about getting long queue times for OWC. Maybe it’s the common experience? There’s not a whole lot of talk about this aspect of the mode so it’s hard to gauge.
Tanks were basically just loot pinatas in that 2020 patch and dps Doom just ran around stun-locking people until they were dead. I played it enough to get the lootbox and then I had to much Doom-PTSD to queue in that mode again.
I miss the first 6v6 RQ they did… No Doom, just full fun.
