20$ for a skin that was free in OW1?

I understand the game is f2p and they need to make money somehow but this is ridiculous, why are they locking original overwatch content behind a paywall ? it’s absurd. Why can’t we continue to earn original overwatch coins and continue purchasing skins like that and the overwatch 2 content can be the stuff on the store to buy with money along with battle passes. Even lowering the needed amount of original cosmetics would help, It is 20 dollars worth of currency to purchase a skin I could of got for free during an event in the PREVIOUS version of the game…

These posts need more attention because they’re going to get away with actual robbery.

I’m adding this because everytime I see the shop it triggers me lol, What was stopping them from separating the two cosmetics. In wow you can buy wow mounts BUT you can still unlock them in game, why can’t I unlock overwatch cosmetics in game but THEN ALSO buy their new overwatch 2 cosmetics on the store/battle pass ??? They have literally taken content away from us. How are events going to work ? no more logging on during holidays to grind out skins ? have to cough up money for 5 year old skins that I have on 2 other accounts ???

The battlepass is a thing for now, but I hope they bring back credits for people that complete it

idk what you mean by that ?

Because they are greedy, and trying to grab as much cash before MSoft steps in and takes over administrative control most likely. We all know lil Bobby wants another boat.

I don’t mind the battle pass I get why it’s a thing, but they should not have locked away all the old accessible cosmetics behind paywalls, there should still be a way to unlock old skins WITHIN the game.

I mean it like this, after you complete a battlepass for the current season you earn legacy coins instead which incentivizes you to play and spend 10 dollars on BP to get the XP boost

As expected, the MTX model (and I mean Macro transactions; $20 isn’t micro) is obnoxious. It sucks because OW2 is actually pretty fun so far, but its simply annoying to see all the stupid skins they worked on for the game.

This is why we don’t have PVE yet by the way. They spend more focus on milking money for us, when they could have just made the PVE and charged a premium for it.

gameplay has been great and it’s sparked my old love for the game since they removed all the CC and made it feel less cluttered, too bad the cosmetic side is such a massive let down

The same people will pay 100 dollars for a rainbow unicorn… so it doesn’t matter for them.

If you’re not smart about what you buy… no excuse.

They had 4 different events this year where all of the seasonal lootbox skins were available to be purchased with credits and the lootboxes were anniversary lootboxes that could drop items from any of the seasonal events. 3 “Anniversary Remix” events and a “Last Chance” event, which ran for the final 3 weeks of OW1. I understand the sticker shock on the prices, but they really gave a lot of chances to grind for whatever cosmetics from the original game you wanted.
