Good morning! I have been playing Overwatch for seven years now, and I can hardly believe how much the game has been a part of my life. It has accompanied me through both my hardest and best moments.
However, I would like to raise a concern regarding language accessibility. As a native Ukrainian speaker, it is unfortunate that I cannot play Overwatch in my own language. I believe adding Ukrainian language support would be a meaningful step toward inclusivity, especially considering the growing Ukrainian-speaking player base worldwide. I would even be happy to volunteer my assistance with translation efforts if needed.
Additionally, I would love to propose two new hero concepts inspired by Ukrainian history, folklore, and Eastern European culture. These ideas would not only introduce fresh and unique characters but also help showcase the rich cultural heritage of Ukraine and Eastern Europe within the Overwatch universe.
- Cossack Warrior. This hero would be inspired by the Ukrainian Cossacks, renowned for their bravery, resilience, and distinctive appearance. Incorporating their historical image into Overwatch’s futuristic setting could create a visually striking and culturally character. This would also mark the first hero representing Eastern Europe beyond Russia, diversifying the game’s global representation.
- Mavka.Drawing from Ukrainian mythology, Mavka is a forest nymph associated with nature, magic, and mystery. Her character could introduce ethereal, nature-based abilities and a mystical aesthetic to the game. I highly recommend watching the trailer for the Ukrainian animated movie Mavka: The Forest Song for visual inspiration. Integrating such a character would bring an enchanting new dimension to Overwatch while celebrating Ukrainian and east-Europe folklore.
I believe these additions could resonate with players worldwide while enriching the game’s cultural diversity. Thank you for considering my suggestions. I am more than willing to provide any further input or support.
