I try to queue for competitive open role but it gets to the 2 hour mark and I have to give up.
Today I managed to get a game after queueing for over an hour.
I asked the other players how long they waited and they said less than 15 minutes. some even said they got a game instantly.
Is there something I can do to check why competitive open role games won’t pop for me?

P.s I don’t know what rank I am cause I can’t get enough games to get a rank
Yeah player base for open queue is tiny sadly.
What time of day are you playing?
Around now.
3pm to about 11pm Australian time.
But all the people I’m matched with say they never have to wait more than 15 minutes. So it doesn’t make sense that they get a queue in 15 and I take 2 hours
I’m in the UK and open queue is usually a minute at most. Maybe it’s because you’re unranked and it’s trying to find other unranked players to match you with, I can imagine that this late in a season there aren’t too many playing.
Could be the unranked bit as above.
Open queue is really popular in Korea and Japan, but I guess no one likes down under… assume you’re pretty high ranked in role queue ?
Nah, only low silver
Probably the same issue as up high. Lower population. Around gold to diamond queues are ok it seems.
Why do the people I get matched with get games so quickly? Shouldn’t they also have trouble getting games if we’re the same rank?
No. They get games when there’s enough people.
Yeah Australia. No way for me to change servers right?
Like even if I change to Asia it still puts me in the closest server?
OCE (oceanic region, where you are) doesn’t have a big enough playerbase for openQ to really work.

only takes me 45 seconds to throw a bunch of DPS mains only on the team.
Just more to west coast mate 
Waited 2 hours and 15 minutes for my latest game.
Took the others 30 seconds, 3 minutes and 10 minutes.
2 were also from australia. So I just don’t get it!
lucky. im having a simmilar issue atm. but im unable to find ANY comp game. and i cant play with a friend because i havnt done placements since season 8 started. ive spent all day in que and found not a single game. but they can find a match in less than 5 min.
SAME! I CANT GET A GAME! I literally wait way too long and don’t get a single game. I’ve opened my own forum post about this issue, the more we complain we can fix this game mode. Like incentives, and adding estimated wait times etc
