I think there should be no reason for there to be two different coins in comp. we should be able to choose whether we want to buy gold or jade weapons with just one kind of coin none of that “legacy” coin BS. It doesn’t make sense, and some people still dont have a lot of gold weapons so making them wait when it can be just as easy to let them choose which weapon they want is not fair.

I agree, and they made both currencies grindy as hell to earn too. Honestly think the DEVs actively want everyone to hate this game. Play their crappy ranked system with a broken matchmaker and wont even reward you by buying your choice of gold/jade gun lol.
Legitimately, how do you mess such a simple thing is honestly baffling.

It’s because they want each new weapon type to be a fresh start that everyone has to grind from 0
I mean you can still buy either gold or jade the the competitive points can’t you? It just has to be obtained after season 9.
I will say, I was HOPING that obtaining the golden weapons would allow a mix of legacy and new competitive points. Now I have 899 legacy points locked up. Another dumb OCD inducing nonsense like the 1 gingerbread coin they took. Minor complain sure but it’s really frickin annoying
They finally give you something new to spend newly acquired comp points on, and all you do is complain about it. You can still get your boring, overdone gold weapons with the new comp points.
you cant buy gold weapons until the competitive coins transfer to “legacy” comp coins at the end of the comp. YEAR

Yes, this. On its own, this reasoning has merit.
What they should do is stick to one currency and let weapon skins be available at all times. I honestly don’t care if a streamer or dedicated player buys out the entire roster with the new weapon skins. Why would I feel cheated? Before anyone starts, I don’t have every Gold weapon skin or an insane surplus of Legacy Competitive Points.

Stopped playing comp the second they removed end of season rank rewards. I only played comp for the currency and nothing else and got most of my coins through the end of season rewards since I only played placements. Now I have gold guns for my most played and fav heroes so I don’t need comp anymore.

Same. I’ve had enough of the comp grind, just casual QP sometimes now. Already got like 25 golden guns and thats enough for me.

also i see where youre coming from about a new weapon type starting fresh. but if thats the case if theyre gonna make two different currencies anyway just have the both accessible at the same time so you can grind from 0 for jade and still get gold weapons if you want with the other currency
Its kind of nonsense that they wanted everyone to start at zero… max comp credit is only 6k meaning only a max of 2 jade guns could be purchased. Because of this they create another currency is a really bad user experience. What if like me i dont like tha jade weapons this new currency gatekeeps me from the rewards i want, golden guns. Again how do they mess up something so simple, like a solution in search of a problem.

Didn’t they change it in s10? You can use either legacy or the new one. At least I was 99% sure you could though I haven’t actually gotten enough points to try but they said they want to make that change so people didn’t have to wait a year if they got 3000 points they could just buy the jade or gold.

Golden weapons can now be purchased with either Legacy Competitive Points or 2024 Competitive Points. You cannot purchase weapons with a combination of both currencies.
Those got instantly converted to credits didn’t they? They no longer exist. Event only currency

I checked it earlier this morning. Unless it JUST now got changed (when you hover over the legacy comp coins on the top right) it says converted at the end of the Comp year
it is. but to buy golden weapons you can use the competitive points without having to wait for the end of the year that’s just saying at the end of the year comp points will be legacy points. Has nothing to do with your ability to buy golden weapons right NOW
