I have a friend that likes to come over and play splitscreen games with me. Overwatch doesn’t have that sort of capability, however, we do have two accounts we can use.
I’ve figured out a way to be able to play two copies of Overwatch on my (one) computer using these two separate accounts, at the same time. We’re only going in custom matches and going against bots as he isn’t an avid FPS player.
Is this allowed? When looking up how to do it, people kept saying it was against the rules, but I can’t see how anything we’re doing is doing anything bad. I just want to make sure I’m not setting myself up to get banned.
Well technically any one computer is only suppose to have a single BattleNet sign-on at any time. How you are not getting either account kicked off is curious. Besides I can’t imagine the strain on your graphics card.
There’s a program called ASTER which will basically make each monitor function as a separate instance of your OS, and you can drag and drop each driver (keyboards and mice and controllers) to register on whichever instance. In my case, keyboard + mouse on my computer monitor, and the controller (plus a mouse to re-focus the window) on the TV screen. The accounts don’t get booted from the OW network because they’re separate - if you launch Overwatch from Overwatch.exe and log in there, you can run two different accounts at once. The issue just becomes controlling both instances as Overwatch will only function with the one you’re currently focused on.
Also, it runs surprisingly well. Temperatures on CPU and GPU are around 60 degrees while playing.
Fair enough and I think that does not violate the EULA. However I don’t think there really can be any technical support that can be officially provided should you start to encounter technical issues.
How did you manage it? I’ve been trying to figure that out for my fiance and I to no avail.
