I cannot play on my main account anymore; all my games end in a loss no matter how hard I try. So, I made a new account and have 100 hours on it, but the games I get are still rolls , though not always resulting in a loss more like a 50 50 . No matter how hard I try, why is this? Why does one account have a bad experience? Also, I’ve noticed my main account is always on defense, not attack, whereas my second account is always on attack. The patterns just seem abnormal. Can anyone explain
I’ve noticed this too. For a while (I haven’t been keeping track lately) my ratio of defense to attack was like 5/1.
My first game of the day is also New Junk City way too often to be coincidence.
nope, ive been saying this for awhile now…the game is broken somehow. I get a 95% rate of lopsided matches…either win or lose. Some people do not experience this, their games are just fine. It’s only a certain segment of the player base. This would explain why one account has it one way, the other account has it the other.
hmm, perhaps i need to just buy another account…maybe it will change the way my matches unfold…
Because the matchmaking system of the game is completely fried up
My friends and I think the same way. We BARELY touch comp, and in OW1 we placed a few times. Two of us placed gold, one of us placed platinum.
I AM a gold/platinum player. I don’t make attempts to get better, I enjoy not try-harding, and I almost exclusively play QP with friends. As far back as Season 4/5 of OW2, we started seeing Master, GM, and yes, even Top 500 titles in our QP games. Insanity.
For funsies, I did my support placements in s7. I mostly played Moira, believe it or not, and flexed to a few other heroes, but I went 5-8 before I got my placement. Masters 1. Unbelievable.
This game’s MMR – both hidden and not – is trash. It is a broken, outdated, bloated system that does no one any favors. The transition to OW2, thousands of alt accounts, win-trading, deranking, people not taking comp seriously, people quitting and returning, new players, the playerbase drastically shrinking… it has made the system’s job of sorting players near-impossible. And it shows.
On top of all this, OW2 is built to not let you go on win streaks for very long. The more you win, not only with you get more difficult opponents, you’ll also be expected to – and placed with – even worse players and demanded that you carry them. Once the system finally delivers you a few loses, you’ll be back near what you should be at. It is a stupid, arrogant, dumb system.
Don’t ask for balance in qp…
It has to be just people that really good because this happens to me too. /s
I think it’s normal to see a 50% win rate once you hit your peak. The real problem is the matchmaking being terrible. There’s a lot of people in ranks they should not be in. I get Damage that miss almost all their shots to Support that just hold LMB all match on the Tank.
How do you get Masters after going 5-8?
Isn’t it insane? I. DON’T. KNOW!
And Masters 1 no less! That’s the fringe of Grandmaster! I should never leave platinum. Especially since, combined across my entire OW career since OW1 beta I have probably less than 50 hours in competitive mode.
Hopefully they reset all the ranks next season and let everyone start over from a clean slate.
More than likely it’s just confirmation bias
In comp I can understand this to test your metal but in QP?
I´m in the same boat… It is like the game counts playing on attack when playing push, control and flashpoint.
And @Style is your main account from OW1?
Data over 1,250 matches:
Attack: 28,10%
Defense: 29,63%
Control: 25,96%
Push: 16,31%
Flashpoint (newer mode, so less percentage): 5,64%
It’s true that in some sessions we may get a few defenses in a row, but it evens out over time.
Because you need to learn more how to manipulate the MM to your favor if you are skill-capped on your main. You are hardstuck, that’s why, in general.
I have many accounts and all are basically the same rank with the same experience
I’d say it is confirmation bias…
Make a spreadsheet and keep a record of this after each game.
You will see that aver many games it will balance itself…
The game treats new accounts as new players so it is going to be putting you in easy matches until the MMR settles on something (which usually differs widely between accounts because the game is bad at determining skill).
For the winrate, 50/50 is normal since the game is rigging wins.
If you are losing too much on your main, you probably have way higher than 50% winrate already.
There is no devs here so i ask you! If I got a very high win rate on a hero does that reflect on other heroes I play?
