I do this. But it’s not always the right call depending on their other DPS/Tanks. Or indeed our other DPS/Tanks. And if I am focused on Pharah, you’re losing DM on the ground for other things. It’s not necessarily a good switch; if I’m playing into Reaper as well in particular, there’s not enough DM for both and I’m likely better going on Ashe to just kill them both.
Nothing anecdotal about it. I go Winston from D.Va or Orisa to deal with Genji, you lost a ton of utility.
Hilariously, if I go Winston to peel like that, from another off-tank, the main tank will often switch to an off-tank thinking I’m suddenly main tanking.
Nope, you’ll find those who switch more within roles are the same players who always switched between roles. Role focused player generally have a much smaller pool to play from, and usually pick very similar heroes.
This is the only potentially valid thing. So you think players on both sides getting frustrated about having their hands tied is a positive?
It lowers the queue times for people who queue as a tank, and raise the queue times for DPS players.
I swear, the queue times today for tank were 1 min or less, while DPS queue times were nearing the 10 mins mark. Support had a slightly longer queue time than tank, and that’s basically it.
2-2-2 is the right move that will benefit the game as a whole, the player base, and balancing. I know change is scary and different, but 2-2-2 is what OW needs.
every point I ever made. This. Bad players lose games, not your setup. The better team is always gonna win. Problem is all it takes is one player out of place and his/her depth and its often GG. Blizzards MM certainly does not help with it one bit, since they loooooooveeee to keep using their handicapp MMR.
You can compensate for bad players, or could, at least. Like in school soccer there can be 2 or even 3 goalies at once, because players simply can’t cover all area on their own until they grow up.
It’s more fair to give victory to team with 1 bad player, instead of taking it away from 5 players, who simply happened to share team with one.
Young Midoriya, this disparity will worsen over time, with the majority of the customer base (ie the dps players) being provided the worst experience in terms of waiting to play
