that’s the favor the shooter concept built within the game design. It’s basically a fundamental core of the design itself. I doubt that they can even fix that to be honest. Even if they do, probably countless bugs will pop up. Not to mention the fact that other abilities are experiencing the same thing. Why should hack be any different?
You want to blame favor the shooter? Go ahead. But picking a single ability and calling the rest ok doesn’t seem fair to me.
Human reaction is .5 at best… and I know most of us probably aren’t even on that level but let’s just say that we are, you’re forgetting our old friend the Projectile, who is much slower than the .05 seconds left after we react and click the button. RIP
Zarya still can’t block hack with her barrier. Which is frustrating when other tanks can, if they have fast reaction time. I always engage the barrier before it finishes. I want the hack blocked. Projected barrier is more important than absorbing crap damage from sombra’s gun.
I can see this is a vaild point, but again there are abilities that are “fast” than hack and those abilities caused damage.
Prime ex: Genji’s Swift Strike. Even Ana’s sleep dart is a projectile, but is a fast one, and the human eye can barley even see it. Not only do you lose your momentum and control of the character for 6 seconds well (5.5) but you also lose the ability to fight back. This is just an examples and there are many more.
I understand about projectile heroes frustration but also projectile heroes are the ones that typical give a Sombra some frustration when 1v1.
Junkrat, Pharah, Hanzo, Zen (sometime if you can aim) etc.
Like I said just give it time, everyone is trying to learn and play Sombra, but literally after a week or so, they will go back Tracer and Genji.
Yeah, I know how the latency or whatever you want to call it. Grace period etc.Just if they fix that, they have to fix it on both pastas well. Sombra and the victim.
If the average brain reaction time is 0.25 second screen to visual stimuli, that leaves you with 0.3 second and t react. There is delay between your mouse click to the game and then to being registered you have to be expecting the hack to be able to react in time. Keep in mind, you also have to LOOK for her whichever takes time
I think this is a network lag compensation thing. Without it the hack would end before they broke LOS in some instances, which would make it feel more broken.
The hack time is absurd to begin with right now. I definitely think Sombra needed more viability, and I think most of what they did to her is great. But the hack time is insane, and the way she deletes specifically Lucio’s entire kit is even worse.
But the LoS thing is bonkers. It’s so upsetting to play against. It feels worse than if Roadhog had the same thing for him, and I find it a lot less frustrating being hooked by RH. There are videos of Meis going into their ice block as they start being hacked, but because this game favors the ‘shooter’ (Sombra) and the generous .1 (or more…) falloff, she is still hacked despite reacting in literally tenths of a second. That is insane.
