The extra smoothness is THE BIGGEST AND BEST upgrade you can make and feels better than a thousand euro “4k max raytrace” experience.
It wont make you aim better, but it will allow you to aim faster.
Edit:
If you have money, id recommend spending 100e more and buy the 300e class of 1440p 144hz IPS, its a real sweetspot and it should last ultra long and its less expensive to run than 4k
Feels so much better, I think anyone whose made the investment (which isn’t even all that much anymore) would agree they would not go back to a 60hz monitor ever.
cause you are lmao, you are not showing all the frames with 60, all games are mostly capped at 144 but people go for 240 just for a little bit more but its useless unless your in pro league
I switch 60hz to 240hz stay 1080p and it feel really great at 144hz for every game not OverWatch only, it’s so much smoother and even faster than 60. Early December it was like christmas gift for myself lol.
Fighting games and maybe moba online they stay at 60 fps due to engine.
I still want decent graphics I didn’t test 240 yet .
60 Hz is something we all put up with to get those CRT monitors off our desks, but the moment I saw my games on a 144 Hz panel I knew that era of compromise was coming to a close. From a player perspective, you should make every effort to up your FPS into the 120-240 Hz range; you will see more clearly and track better.
Something you do need to consider is the overall strength of your system:
Higher hertz means your computer needs to be able to consistently drive higher FPS; this is far more doable on a 1080p monitor than 1440p or 4k, so just be aware that a jump in resolution may demand more from your CPU and GPU than you expect (sacrifice some quality or upgrade system).
My previous CPU (4790K) was great at 1080p@144Hz but it struggled when I upgraded to 1440p@165Hz. Using a 3700X now and it crushes.
For a game like this, I would sacrifice visual quality for higher FPS 100% of the time (within reason - I still want the game to look good but I don’t need ultra quality if it’s going to hurt my FPS).
Not everything we do with our computers and games is super special, but playing on a 120Hz+ monitor for the first time is something you will immediately identify as a special moment.
