My Disk Usage when playing Overwatch constantly hits 100% usage when playing OW.
I know this is an OW exclusive problem because I tested it with other games and all of them run fine. This results in game with my ping and IND being extremely high, being 100+ for both constantly making the game unplayable.
I seriously do not not know what the problem is as nothing has changed in the past couple weeks where the problem has started.
Which server are you connecting to (you can check this in-match by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+N to bring up the netstats overlay)?
Is the any way you could take your PC to a friends or family members house preferably with a different ISP to see if the same bad latency persists?
If you’re using a HDD it’s possible the sectors where overwatch data is stored could be damaged or the read head is having trouble reading those sectors.
Super sorry about the late response, I honestly just forgot to check.
I’ve also got a clip of what this all looks like in game with CRTL+SHIFT+N but I can’t send links in these posts, is there another way I could send you the footage?
Located in Brisbane Australia and I’m with iiNet.

Overwatch files are stored on my HDD. I tried scanning the files before to see if they were corrupted and it kept popping up with the error BLZBNTAGT00000BB8, same error popped up when I uninstalled and tried to reinstall the files. I’m not sure how but I managed to get them to reinstall, I don’t remember what I did to get it to happen, if I did anything at all.
I could possibly take it to a friends house but I might have to get back to you on that one.
If my HDD sectors are damaged what do you suggest I do?
After you uninstalled Overwatch via the launcher did you delete the game directory which contains Overwatch Launcher.exe and the Overwatch folder under your documents folder?
The scan and repair function clearly has issues that were not present with OW1, I had to do the above when I got stuck in an update loop that kept failing.
You could try copying the Overwatch files to a USB connected storage device and try launching it from there.
If the HDD is going bad (HDDs are less reliable then they used to be due to shielded magnetic recording) then running a scandisk (aka check disk) would be worth a try but you need to check the windows event viewer for the results of the scan (MS love dumbing things down and making them overcomplicated in the process).
Ow2 has a minimum requirement of 6GB of ram, which your system barely meets. Considering Windows and other apps will be using some of your Ram, it may be you don’t have enough. If you do run out of Ram it can cause the OS to start using your storage drive to make up the difference,
which could cause all sorts of system slowness.
My old PC (8GB Ram) would struggle with OW1 which had a 6GB minimum requirement, especially if I had other apps like Discord running. I had to make sure any non-essential apps and processes were not running to free up some extra Ram.
What’s weird though is that for the first several weeks of OW2 (and the entirity of OW1) my PC ran just fine, stable 90-100fps, ping around 20ms etc. The problems have only started in the last couple of weeks, but I don’t remember changing anything.
I do understand what you’re saying though, and I have bought more RAM, only problem is my motherboard only has 2 RAM lots and one of them is broken lol. I make sure to only have OW running if I’m playing.
