For some reason every download I do, the bar says I’m download at 0 bytes a second. But I’m not because the bar is still moving. The download still goes downloading usually at a good speed with some dips. But it reads it as 0 bytes. This has happened a long time before.
I had been having this issue for a week or so as well. I was trying to download the PTB for OW and it wasn’t working and then when the patch went live, it still read 0 Bytes/Sec when I tried to update the Live Servers so I wasn’t able to play at all. I feel like I literally tried everything but I managed to finally get it working. Prior to this, I had uninstalled both BattleNet and OW and then tried to run BattleNet as Admin, like the guide said to do, and then attempted to reinstall OW but I ended up getting the same 0 Bytes/Sec thing. I even tried waiting to see if maybe it would work after a certain amount of time but it didn’t.
Here’s what ended up making it work:
- Paused the installation of OW.
- Went to Add or Remove Programs and uninstalled BattleNet. I went to uninstall OW but it wasn’t under the list of programs, even though I had supposedly been in the process of downloading it.
- Opened up Task Manager and ended all processes that dealt with BattleNet.
- in C: Drive, I went to Program Files (x86) and deleted both BattleNet and Overwatch.
- Reinstalled BattleNet, closed it, opened it as Administrator and then reinstalled OW.
After I had done that, it worked and I was able to play again. Not sure if this will solve your problem, but hopefully it works.
Sometimes Battle net client needs some time to reorganize game files after downloading. 0 bytes/sec means that it downloads no new files from network and installs already downloaded files.
Otlap is correct. Avoid pausing the installation if you are ever doing a full install or re-install of Overwatch that this appears to be happening.
