Ha. Journalism. Does that word even have meaning anymore?
Wouldnât happen before the fiasco either. Maybe a mii costume but not a full fledged fighter. Sans and shovel Knight couldnât even get their own fighters so I doubt an Overwatch hero would even be considered.
It absolutely is going to happen and a fake story about Nintendo not marketing the game and lying about Nintendoâs refund policy does not change that. I get it that people want this to be a story but its not; its a lie concocted by a hack writer who did not do his proper research because he is a clearly a PC writer writing about a console he does not understand.
Sans barely got into smash, no OW hero is getting a fighter.
Its a clear connection and its obvious why they would want to. Also how do you know the difference between âbarely got a characterâ and âgot a characterâ because unless you are in the meeting room you do not know the distinction?
Huge release for a console that could help secure many more online players is going to get marketed hard as it has been and the best marketing they can do to people outside of the OW bubble is to put a character in Smash. For that reason alone its going to happen and thats ignoring the obvious ease of transition from OW to Smash.

Or its more likely in the best interest of companies not to have stupid policies for its esports players and slam them out of their own greed.
Blizzard screwed up, deal with it.
No, it wonât happen.
Overwatch is a 3 years old game and is not even a franchise, not mentioning that Blizzard released only 3 games on Nintendo plataforms since ever: OW, Diablo 3 and Lost VikingsâŚ
Overwatch doesnât fill any requirement to have a Smash hero, just face itâŚ
yellow press news⌠move on.
the policy exists to try to prevent (and protect themselves) from incidents like the one that just happenedâŚif you dont think most companies have something similar in their TOS you are fooling yourselvesâŚ
blizz wanted as much to do with this as nintendo probably doesâŚ

There is not a ârequirementâ to have a Smash hero. Bayonetta would fill NONE of the requirements beyond the fact that she was in a game just released that they wanted to market which oddly enough is the EXACT same thing they can say about OW. Nintendo probably sees mobile OW as a way to boost their online presence and the best way to do is to market the game as they have been and the next best way to market it is to throw a hero like Tracer or Genji into Smash which is probably what will happen.
So, hereâs the problem with what youâre saying in this caseâŚthat what they did didnât protect them at all.
Even if you like the policy, the punishment didnât match the offense, and was clearly designed with sniveling up to the Chinese government in mind, not being âoffensiveâ or âbreaking a ruleâ
And because of that obviously atrocious response, Blizzard promptly lost more in the value of their company than they dragged in from revenue in the entire Asia Pacific region, not just China.
So, Blizzard, by doing what they did, actually hurt themselves more in money than they gained. While weâll see what happens going forward, that in and of enough was plain stupid on their part. AndâŚthatâs why they went back on their knees and clawed back their penaltyâŚafter enough outrage. Because of money.
No matter how you look at it, Blizzard is both sniveling and greedy. And by thinking of that first, instead of what the right move was, they lost what they wanted most. Money.
Really, it serves them right because this was never about politics at all. That was a handy excuse for Blizzard trying to suck up.
orâŚmaybe just maybeâŚnintendo just doesnt want to deal with what blizzard is dealing with rn so they are justâŚbacking away from it for now
protect them legally i meant⌠in case of actionâŚyou cant actually prevent someone from saying something if they choose to open their mouth
Theyâre being a lot smarter than Blizzard, thatâs for sure.
well for one nintendo doesnt have to deal with you, so you know
Oh, heâs got insults! Lol!
Youâre the best.

â Bayonetta had an exclusive game released for WiiU (Bayonetta 2).
â Bayonetta was at that point, an 6 years old franchise.
â Nintendo bought Bayonetta franchise.
As you can see, completely different case; And Nintendo doesnât need OW to boost their online, they have much better games to do it (Smash, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 DeluxeâŚ).
I will say this, the only oddity in the smash lineup was Banjo, solely because of rare only having made games for nintendo during the n64 i believe, could be wrong
Nah, its some tricky stuff.
OW characters are probably off the table. Not even the smash community wanted Tracer anyways.
