Has it occurred to anyone that a large part of the reason Zarya is getting used is due to projected barrier being the only way to Cleanse against AntiHeal?
That “the meta” is Winston/Zarya largely to provide cleanses (and to avoid CC, which also includes SleepDart).

I guess my point is that Tank meta would be a bit more diverse if Bionade wasn’t such a huge threat.
I.e. Let’s imagine there were more cleanses in the game, or you needed a direct hit with bionade to get the anti-heal effect.
Which would also probably create more Support diversity too.
It could also be that she can pump out 100+ dps easily since it’s not hard at all to get charge. But yea that cleanse thing too.
I mean, so can Sigma or Orisa. Technically D.va kicks up to 170DPS without even using her missiles.

Well the devs are moving away from “barrier spam constantly” meta.
Which was previously “defence matrix spam constantly”.
The projectiles are 10x more difficult to hit than a hitscan beam.
And with d.va you have to be practically hugging that person to even get that damage.
As a preference, I think all Tanks should be more kill focused, or at least autonomous from their team in making an impact, if the devs have any hope of attracting more and more DPS players to the Tank role.
you’d have to rework bionade for it to stop being a threat. Even with only halving healing it’d still be a huge threat.
Adding cleanse isn’t as easy as it looks cause it can be too powerful, especially paired with dive heroes (a cc immune nanoblade is something i wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy)
Ana’s nade isn’t preventing anything from being played. The lack of options to deal with things in the game is. People have been asking for a support that can cleanse for a very long time and we almost had that with Moira, alas it didn’t happen.
If you’re missing Orisa and Sigma shots at 15m range, or less, you need to buy a new mouse.
Especially the new Orisa.
They could add a cleanse to all offhealer ults, and Mercy Ult.
cleanse to zen ult would be too op, cleanse to lucio’s and brig’s ult won’t really do all that much.

No because zarya dominates everywhere, and has been doing so for the past year especially from diamond-bronze (yes i get it, “dont balance for the lower ranks” but come on, atleast prevent them from beeing totally destroyed)

We just need a new character that has it. Moira was a good idea with it, but if they didn’t feel it was right then we’re just gonna need to give it to a new character.
There’s no need to bloat the game with cleanses though because 1. There aren’t that many things to cleanse and 2. It really starts to lower the value of those mechanics if every support can get rid of them
If you limit counterplay to one hero making a counter, then you basically require that one hero to be played.
Which doesn’t really help improve diversity of the choice by much.
Not really, it actually adds more depth to the game. If you look at the way it was implemented on Moira it was a choice between keeping your escape tool or helping your team, it wasn’t just a thing you could get value out of without sacrificing anything.
