What buffs could Symm get if they,
Removed the Slow from her sentries, and made it so pre-existing sentries didn’t go through teleporters.

I’m thinking, at a minimum, they could make it so that if a laser activates, that it puts the target it’s shooting at up on sonic-arrow-vision.

I.e. Strip out the annoying stuff and the cheese, so she can get some meaty buffs.

If that’s to happen, her sentries would need their dps nerf reverted or increase their health to 40 and allow Sym to have a maximum of 4 turrets as they are now there for pure damage instead of cc. She would still need her hitboxes to fit in with her model size or her health increased to 250. Teleporter might actually be (somewhat?) better because it no longer has to be destroyed if Sym wants to TP bomb cause that strat will no longer exist.

Tbh, that could work. Just straight up buff the firepower on the sentries. Double it even.

Yup, faster teleporter deploy time wouldn’t be a problem.

well if sentries don’t slow, there’s even less reason why orbs should be 25m/s with legit sniper level charge time. so making orbs faster moving (and maybe faster charging) would be an absolute no brainer (compensate with going back to 120 orbs and maybe orb size, but again, we want this to be a net buff still).

there’s also no reason why tp can’t have old 3.0 cast frequency even if turrets did slow because we literally had a better tp + unnerfed everything else for >1yr across various metas and she still wasn’t being oppressive. fear of “team tp” for this is unreasonable since we have objective data showing it’s fine and showing that even pros didn’t use tp for “team strats” any different to current.

those 2 things alone will massive improve sym’s status already.

My biggest issues are her charge up rate its just way too slow and also that her deployable shield got removed. In 1v1 scenarios she will lose most of the time because her primary is terrible and her orbs are not the easiest to control and very easy to dodge.

Her turrets are just average and with ashe being meta her dynamite renders them useless very frequently.

Walking up to a shield right now means shes insta dead.

By the time her beam actually charges, shes dead already.

I’m thinking sonic arrow vision for sentries, more bass damage on her ramp, etc.
It was good-ish as a support ability (needed more range and less damage) but now she’s full dps it may be holding her back.
Especially turret bombing.

My ideal buffs would be to have cd start on activation for her tele, and an 8 second turret cooldown.
Maybe with 90-120 as her base ramp damage.

(If she’s going to remain a dps, that is)

What gets me is that if you look at Mei or Roadhog or Brig or Sombra tc.

Having a CC greatly limits how powerful a hero can be. (Unless it’s a fan favorite like Ana/Lucio/McCree)

uhh well im not sure why you´d need this, at least the second one,

i like the slow myself, gives her some form of utility, however i think it would be more intresting if the slow was bigger but multiple turrets didnt stack it, making spreading them arround a better option,

frankly, she can get meaty buffs without really nerfing her in return im pretty sure

frankly, i think sym probably needs another rework?

That’s why I’d figure replace the Slow with a teamwide wallhax view on the target it’s shooting.

It would basically be an alarm system against flanks.

Auto-aim abilities wreck havoc in lower ranks and tie up balancing power at medium/high ranks.

So her Sentries being an after-thought would be better for her kit overall. Like, just mash them into another ability like her v2 Photon Barrier (when it breaks, it drops or deploys the sad-weak-lame sentry she has now).

that was my original idea for Sym 2.0 but i dont think it fits 3.0 since her DPS is extremely reliant on those turrets to do anything

But that’s the point. They could buff her so that she’s not so reliant on the sentries to deal damage

i mean when she was doing actually any damage with her actual guns due to the bugfix she got immediatly sledgehammered down immediatly and nerfed like another 4 times afterwrds, so i dunno if thats even a thing anymore,

idk what sym needs anymore tbh, this character is dead, they have tried and failed to fix her for years, at this point i think blizz doesnt even know what to do

That’s because annoying heroes aren’t allowed to be high tier, usually.

So I figure, strip out the annoying things about Symm, then they can buff her.

buff her gun or buff her turrets if you’re going to be stubborn about her gun. She just needs her damage back.
