I like her as she is but tbh if there is any dps that could make the transition to the tank role, Mei probably has the best shot.

Honestly I think the builder DPS (Torb and Sym) make the most sense, with turrets defending space.

But everyone hates turrets so that’s not going to happen.

That sounds horrible,

I already have a hard time tanking properly with a normal Mei wall CD when she’s on my own team.

Mei wall’s mess up a lot of plays and break my rhythm constantly when I start pressuring enemy tanks.

Hell, even if I am in the mood to barrier tank I will swap right off the second I see someone on my team go Mei (except if it’s 2 CP maybe). Not worth the risk for me.

Thats… It has nothing to do with turrets and everything to do with the kit. Mei has a tank’s kit. Thats why people have been saying she should me moved to tank category years before role que. She makes space and peels for her team, she heals herself, she is pure cc, her ult is the best zoning ult in the game.

I agree with you.

She doesn’t exactly make space. She’s more about protecting a space.
She was one of the few defense heroes who I truly consider a defense hero.

I think it would make it easier for both tank and dps players

for tanks you don’t need to worry about playing against 3 enemy tanks anymore, and for dps they no longer have to shoot around 2 enemy barriers, an immortality field, and an enemy mei wall all in the same fight

Also, Mei’s wall as a space-grabbing measure only serves to get the teams together without taking damage, but forfeiting your normal off tank would make teams much less brawly. So she’s far better as a third ‘tank’ than she’d be as a second one.

Increase tank playerbase and decrease queue times. having a huge player base of Mei mains moving to tank would help a lot with queue times.

But you see, her being a third tank in the dps slot is what makes her broken and is where all the issues people have with her come from.

There isn’t a huge Mei playerbase. Mei is a pretty unpopular hero, not played much even when she’s very strong.

I’d actually think you’d get a lot of DPS mains choosing Mei, to get at that sweet 30sec queue time.
