Whether it’s
- Plat and below Rein/Zarya/Hog,
- or Masters and above Sigma/Ball/Hog/Orisa.
One thing is clear.
Neither skill tier group features D.va or Winston.
So how could they be buffed? Not only so they are used across all skill tiers, but also to quiet down a bit of the DoubleBarrier concerns.
And just because most people enjoy playing those Tanks when they are worthwhile to be played.

I would like to see how it would play out if Winston got +25 armor added (525 total HP). As for D.Va, at this point she needs a DM range increase and a better armor-health ratio.

After the armor buff I’ve thinking a little more favorably towards the idea of giving Dva more armor instead of HP.
In the past I’ve been against the idea because I didn’t think it would help because the strong heroes all didn’t care for armor. But 2020 saw the tone down of a lot of bullet damage, Soldier is back at 19, Bap down by 1, beams are weaker against armor as well.
With all the nerfs to healing, I also think armor has become even more important relatively. Armor has a damage reduction, but it heals at the same speed, so if you’re being damaged, armor effectively heals faster.
So… let’s replace 100 HP with 100 armor for Dva and see what happens.

I’d rather they not. The last thing I want is for dive to be the meta again. I’d rather have goats, sniper, bunker, double shield, anything. Anything as long as it isnt dive.

D.Va needs 12m I think. But Winston is pretty fine and my proof is how well he was doing a month or two ago, and pretty much all of 2017 on top of that. He has never been nerfed, which shows hes doing bad because of other problems

Here’s how I’d buff Winston: give him a new Ability!

Banana Peel - Winston eats a banana, restoring 250 HP, before tossing the peel on the ground. An ally who slips on it gains temporarily increased movement speed, while an enemy who slips on it will trip, fall, and be unable to move for a few seconds.

her defense matrix is already so big, like comically so if your looking at it from the front as the enemy. and isnt her armor to health already almost at 50 50

10m is not enough for D.Va’s only defensive tool, especially since she does not have consistent ranged damage to make up for it. Peel is the main reason 10m is not enough.
She has 400 health, 200 armor. It would be reasonable if DM was actually peeling reliably, or she did consistent ranged damage.

Yeah it’s pretty trivial to see how they could be buffed. Winston: little bit of armor, reduced ult charge given while primal raging. Dva: DM range, some hp exchanged for armor.

Lower the cooldown on leap by 1 second for winston.
Reduce the crit damage dva takes.

I think the devs appear to have a strong preference against high sustain metas.
That’s his damage range. He does not use that range for peeling, he uses it for damage. Also, he has 2 defensive options (3 if you count Accretion), and the shield has pretty much infinite range.

yeah and her dm is already like 4 times his kinetic grasp range so it evens out and if shield is too far away from you the enemy team will destroy it in a second without pressure. and honestly im suprised your saying if you count accretion seeing as how its his best defensive ability against dva specifically
I think people figured out that Sigma/Hog or Sigma/Ball either works better or shuts down Winston comps.

Because DM is her only defensive tool, Sigma has 2. Also, Kinetic Grasp gives Sigma up to double his base HP.
Same can be said with DM. If DM is too far away from you (as D.Va’s teammate), the enemy team will focus you and you will die. Also, beams don’t go through Sigma’s shield.
