“What’s one more kill?”

Anyone else dislike this Ana voiceline? Her whole theme is about regret of all the lives she took (even though she recognizes it’s necessary). Then she just goes “ehhhhh it’s not a big deal”. It’s just a little thing that bugs me (I like the game overall).

Characterization and any degree of subtlety with the heroes kinda went out the window with OW2 specifically.

My conspiracy hat says it was an attempt to Fortnite-ify the franchise, since the character interactions in general got a lot more… comedic™ in tone.

Pharah’s complete gear shift in to her Jock persona has her talking almost like a TF2 character.

we all have our addictions.

for example i live a life regretting the time i spend on the overwatch forums, or the time i spend playing overwatch, but in that moment? when i load up the game?

“eh whats one more kill”

I enjoy any character interaction, especially those with characters you think would never ever meet (in lore). But yes, the “memeified” interactions have become almost 50/50 whenever a new map or hero comes out and it’s kinda disappointing. I just want new, meaningful interactions that give us some lore instead of “brigitte ate mercy’s apple pie from the fridge” or whatever. Please blizzard, give us some lore!!!

Most in-depth OW lore since the team got fired

rein and junk have a prety nice one i gotta admit but i would say the new ones are more like 20/80 with 20 being good and 80 being cringe
havent heard a single one from moira dat doesnt make me want to pull my teeth out

by far the hardest one to hear for me is this one

  • Brigitte: Real glory comes from helping people, not hurting them.
  • Ashe: We may have… different definitions.

It’s possible that she does feel remorse, but she has just gotten so accustomed to it, having spent most of her life as a soldier. She realises there is no going back, she is closer to the end than to the start, her kills have now gone from tragedies to a statistic.

I’ve been thinking this, too! Everyone is so quippy and acts like a Marvel character. Most character interactions are void of lore as well - I swear most of them are just “Hey, it’s you!”, “Yes, it’s me!” basically, lol.

My least favourite interactions are between Moira and Mercy. Each one starts with one of them asking a witty and ill-intentioned question, and ends with the other’s snarky response. So low-effort for what was supposed to be one of the biggest rivalries in the game, with Moira supposedly representing everything Mercy stands against.

The “what’s one more kill” is an automatic voice line.

She regrets being taken out of commission and leaving people behind.

She tries fighting for the right things and for her mission.
So for her mission to save things is she doesn’t mind killing.

Don’t know this voiceline but I suspect the fact that it’s inconsistent with her character means it’s another OW2 voiceline rather than OW1?
