I only get this message when trying to load into competitive play, and it was the sole reason for my suspensions the entire season. And now it led to my ban and im nervous because I’ve never left any comp games so I never really got any bans past the 15 or 30 minute ones, so these suspensions and now ban are a little out there. My wifi is completely fine, and I think the problem isn’t on my side so I don’t believe this ban is justified. I don’t know how to appeal it, im a little new to trying to get support with OW2. But I kept receiving that message when trying to load into competitive games and it just banned me completely for something that’s not my fault. Im not sure how to appeal it. Please let me know what I can do or what can be done. Thank you!
Hi, I’m a volunteer and do not work at Blizzard or relay messages to developers.
You can’t appeal suspensions or bans that are the result of disconnecting.
Thanks for replying anyway!! The thing is im not the cause of disconnection it’s a game problem and im not sure why it’s happening since its not from my end and its so frustrating
The “failed to connect to server” error means something either at your house or on the route to the server dropped the connection, not the server itself. When the server disconnects, it produces a different error message and the match is cancelled for everyone (usually no penalty happens).
Ohh, I was completely unaware of that since it occurs only when I’m queuing for comp so it was so confusing. Is there any reason why it only happens when I’m playing competitive?
You’re likely landing on a different server when playing Comp than you do when playing other unranked modes. If you try a gaming VPN, then you’ll probably get a better route for Comp games.
I play on console so im not sure how to add a gaming vpn, but ill try, thanks so much for this. you definitely helped!!
You would need a router capable of using a VPN.
is there another way to use a vpn on a PlayStation?
You can’t use one on the console itself, no. Only computers and routers have VPN functionality.
some routers have VPN capabilities added to the soft and (or) hardware. login into your router or just look up if yours can. I have an asus one and it has DNS and VPN settings in the software.
