“This game has improved.”
Oh, I just remembered another good one! On Infernal Shrines, I was playing
Kaelthas, and my tank was yelling at me because I wasn’t diving their backline. He actually thought that Kaelthas was a dive hero… Lol…
I disagree, I feel it is the most snow-bally map in the game. It’s too dark, and the objective is the only thing to do. I guess I’m in the minority now when it comes to the direction of this game. I actually don’t like teamfighting all game long, I enjoy smashing a few forts, setting up mercenaries to push lanes, etc.
Forced 50
Trolls are in every single game I get that’s why I lose
Double mage works and is a good comp
We lost cause we didn’t ban X hero
Don’t pick KTZ, we alreday have Fenix, pick some consistent damage!
Isn’t Fenix consistent enough to you?
Pick Valla, not two mages!!! We need consistent damage!!!
enemy banned KTZ
Nazeebo locked instead of KTZ
I said not two mages!
You had problem with burst damage, now you have problem with sustain damage as well
You don’t understand what consistent means. Who will finish them?
It turned out that he wanted a finisher (which can be Genji, Tracer, Illidan etc. but not Valla lol)
The complainer last picks Sonya
Why didn’t you lock a tank?
We already have Dehaka. Isn’t he a tank?
Nope.
After this conversation on diamond HL draft I hope that this guy at least knows the support heroes
“Valla is no good on BOE!”
&
“Why would anyone go Q build with Valla on BOE?”
I feel it is the most snow-bally map in the game.
I don’t think you know what snowball is either. We talking about the same towers of doom? LOL.
Snowball happens when you got forts down (way more than the enemy)… and there’s no getting them back; practically every other map in the game ** This makes it quite a bit harder to recover… especially with catapults marching towards your core and also getting in the way of you reaching the objective (as can can happen on Dragonshire).
In Towers of Doom it is perfectly possible to get the Towers back. ** Even better their number is part of the objective. Each one counts as a point against the enemy’s core when the objective is captured, not to mention if you get all the towers their is a non-stop pulse on the enemy’s core until they get back at least one of them. Which makes them incredibly powerful and why a 1-40 game doesn’t guarantee or favor a winner until the last core point is fired off (AKA never at any point in this game can you say one side is winning or the other). Both sides have an equal chance of winning the entire time if they play their cards right. But don’t take my word for it. Google Towers of Doom and “comeback” and educate yourself.
A truly and traditional snowball sort of map is TOSQ.
I actually don’t like teamfighting all game long, I enjoy smashing a few forts, setting up mercenaries to push lanes,
And uh… you can still do all those things.
If you like playing a pve only non team sort of game…then this game isn’t for you. Never was.
When I get on my windows machine later on I’ll post one of my most recent comeback games on this map.
That Genji is fine.
“We don’t need nexus original heroes because deathperius hellscream is still unannounced BabyRage”
I disagree, I feel it is the most snow-bally map in the game.
Here is an example of a comeback game. Not one of the biggest comebacks lowest we were was 8-24 but it is a comeback nonetheless. Enemy team was dominating us the first two-thirds of the game then with the help of our Stitches team mate we got some great picks which helped us dominate them in turn and win the game. Sadly no example of losing a tower and getting it back but I’m sure with your 2k games played you have experienced this. I hope.

“I am not a super soaker.”
-Summer Tracer.
The dumbest thing I’ve heard is “Ignore Chromie, she doesn’t do any damage”. Yeah, guess who melted us?
Bot build is a classic. I often think of it whenever I solo lane. “Can’t do it. I’m just not built for top lane guys.” “My build? No it is correct, look where I am”.
Anyway, recently I had some guy last pick Kael, we had no tank. He non-sarcastically was asking for peels and saying “stop letting genji screw me”. Yes, they had genji when he picked on top of it. He also asked me why I had Bloodlust… But I had ancestral. Maybe he was just watching streams or tripping or something come to think of it.
I actually don’t like teamfighting all game long, I enjoy smashing a few forts, setting up mercenaries to push lanes, etc.
Which are more important on Towers of Doom than any other map…
So I’ll add this as one of the dumbest things I’ve heard
the objective is the only thing to do
Probably here in these forums… when people claim HotS is more complex and harder than LoL
when people claim HotS is more complex and harder than LoL
In some ways it is.
In other ways, most definitely not.
There isn’t a single element in HotS that makes it more complex or harder than LoL
Having more maps with different comps and strategies being preferable on each.
Having a powerful objective and needing to decide when and if to go for it versus doing other things on the map.
Entirely too much reliance on it being a team game so you can’t really carry, forcing you to play more coherently with bad players…
Having more maps doesn’t make it more complex
If you’ve ever watched any competitive games, the comps don’t vary much depending on maps. Different maps with different objectives are merely a gimmick. It actually makes the game even less complex. With a ready made objective, a ready beacon for everyone to gather together to brawl it out. Have you ever seen competitive matches when the map objective is down? Teams pretty much just wander about trying their best to avoid fights before objectives come online.
You dont see teamfights over every obj, it indeed was like that like 2 years ago, but on the current hgc map pool only volskaya forces fights over every obj. On other maps, the pros can play to get value elsewhere and use the fact the obj is not scaled on the early game and on maps like sky, towers, tomb and even on boe to some extend, you can still find teams giving up the obj to get value in the time the oponent team is taking it
As for “wandering”, its one team avoiding and the other trying to force it. It can feel passive because almost always the team looking to fight is doing so because they are in disadvantage, wich is also why they need to find a good position and cant take just any oportunity or they will just feed
As for pick rates, the map certanly shifts picks and win rates quite a lot, its true that there are a couple that always do well regardless of map, but its still pretty rare for any patch to have more than 1 or 2 heroes with over 60% pick rate, altho some does often gets extremely high ban rates
Buuuut… if we are going to talk about the same toons being picked and banned over and over, why not take a look at LoL? If you think the HotS is in a bad state, then LoL is absolute hellish… during this year world circuit, there was 5 toons with over 85% draft presence, in some regional tourneys its not rare to see champs get a literal 100% presence tro the event, the draft just shifts more drastically than hots between patches, but it always have 5 champs with extremely high ban and 4 with very high pick(the moba that sits in a sweet spot in that regard is dota…)
