This was a while ago, but I remember a match in HL where I was on Blaze, and we had a main tank Johanna on BoE. In chat, the Li Li said, “Too bad we don’t have a good solo laner.”

Dehaka can. He is very fat - very strong self-sustain + strong control and zoning by W. I played for Dehaka as solo tank and not once. By the way It one of unpopular opinions.
Note : Also Blaze can be tank, he have talents for that and Tirael by the way tank too.

P.s. That man said right when said “that”. Not all people can to play for Dehaka as solo tank and even does not know what he can.

Xul can be a main tank, and was in one HGC game. But there is a difference between a more optimal choice for main tank like a Johanna or Diablo vs a frontliner who is better suited to the bruiser role.

“Can” is the key there. Anyone CAN be played as a solo tank, we even had zeratul/maiev in hgc and they won. But CAN is different than IS, which is what the guy said.

KT with 0 mana who refused to retreat before a teamfight:
“Do something noobs!”

Ana sololaning on BB, ambushed by three enemies:
“Sylvanas, you ***, why you didn’t help. I had 5 coins. you ***!!!”
I was retreating in the nearby bushes with 20% HP.

“Varian is so broken.” It remember it was before his buffs.

“Hanzo is total trash.” He was killed by Alarak 15 times in one game…

God gosh that’s precious, it reminds me of the many Nova mains I’ve encountered in QM who have said similar things and also were under the influence.

Can doesnt always mean you should. Dehaka can solo tank, and can do that quite well, but real tanks are generaly more reliable at it.

If dehaka goes full tank, its going to be in exchange for damage or CC. And for a hero thats normaly a bruiser, thats not always a good thing.
Stitches and diablo for example can tank and deal damage at the same time.

But yes, if QM or your team made a mistake a draft, it might be the best option your team has. And dehaka in such case does the job.

Couple of amusing ones when I play when there are few players online.

Had one instance today where I politely asked for people to glance at my energy in teamfights as Morales, since they had a lot of protracted going-nowhere fights under the enemy towers leading me to go out of energy and them dying.
Our kael thas then pointed out to me that “if we hav 2 pay for healing u hav 2 pay for dps & tanking”. As if I need my teammates to “earn” my healing or something, not just being out of energy.

Another favourite of mine is teammates dying in their lane, me going over to soak as they respawn and them frantically pinging for me to retreat despite being 20 seconds away, thinking I’m there to “steal” their lane.

One of my favorite, which I was told when I was playing Aba and passively soaking line on the other side of the map, while we were fighting over objective. The guy was around level 50, so a new player…

He: “We are loosing because you never join team fights. Stop being afk and join us!”
Me: “Did you played Abathur at least once?”
He: “No, I don’t need to. I see you are never with us in a teamfight.”

Nuff said.

Towers of Doom, one altar is up. After big team fight our Mephisto and enemy Abathur are alive. Mephisto starts capping, Aba teleports to him (for trolling maybe). Mephisto runs away, bc “mephisto is a ranged dps, therefore he can’t kill an abathur”

I had a Bronze 2 player tell me I died to much in TL… in a game where they said in draft that we needed a “godly solo lane” which I took as Zagara on Braxis Holdout. and that I failed at solo lanedespite killing Dehaka twice, killing the enemies well and outer towers without losing any buildings.

More info:

Ended up against Dehaka.

Won the lane, killed both their towers, didn’t lose our towers… Killed Dehaka twice.

Eventually I died to Varian (Col Smash) coming from bottom lane to help Dehaka. I should have noticed him being missing for so long, but no mia was called.

I died. I died later to the same thing (but that one is 100% on me, I was even thinking “I shouldn’t be putting the extra damage on the fort, I’m going to die”). Granted, on Mia call/ping, or danger ping was called again.

After this objective spawned, they never got to hold it bot, so it was a full wave, it ended up turning into the other team rolling over us.

I died twice more fighting with the team.

After the game ended, the player messaged me telling me i died to much and was never with the team.

I merely told him I won the lane, my deaths in lane were due to no mia but I should have noticed mia regardless. And that my deaths after were with the team.

He played as Stitches and in a ~15 minute game, he got 7 stacks of Savor the Flavor. in a bottom lane where it was 4v4.

This was in the last 5-10 days or so. I’m also pretty sure that he died 6-7 times, to my 4 times… :expressionless:
