The “Cassia-effect” happened to Sonya.
She’s balanced and not the flavour currently. So rare plays despite that she’s still really good.

Rex can stall her like that.You just always stun her when she WW. But he lacks dmg to kill her(fast).

That is till 13.After he gets 125% AS buff he will melt sonya quite ez(he can melt most ppl when 13).Still this means rex needs to at least have some skill. He can ez miss stun if he is bad and sonya + wrath can murder anyone.

Leap always… irks me. If I want Leap, I feel like I may as well be playing more of a setup bruiser. But I’ve seen it used successfully. Personally I just see not taking Wrath as a self-nerf because now you’re dealing 66-70% of the damage you would be dealing otherwise. Leap is satisfying as hell to get value from but if the fight doesn’t end with Leap, then I always feel like I’ve lost my balls. I murder squishies with Wrath slams and No Escape, and uuusually not missing Spear ;s

Now maybe if you have an Alarak or something, or ETC, someone to followup on your big Leap engage, maybe it’s more hot then. Because that’s where I feel like I usually lose to it.

Exactly this. She’s still one of the strongest solo-laners in the game, she still does a lot of damage, she’s still very well rounded and brings a lot of tools to the table.

She’s just not dominant like she was before, she’s balanced.

Yep I agree, Sonya is super well balanced. Just not OP anymore so you see other solo laners more often.

BTW secret technique. You give Sonya bit more survivability like a tassadar or a zarya and OMG she is a force to be reckoned with. Basically unkillable while also putting out massive stats D: .

Zarya Sonya is the end of things, even Sgt. Hammer + Maiev comps. Doublesupport in general is amazing with Sonya, with or against. They don’t have the damage to kill her, or two supports behind sonya and same thing. She will kill people until the core is dead.

The trolls working at Blizzard thought is a good idea to nerf every melee carry into oblivion. The reason is that they cater their lowskilled Hanzo and Junkrat playerbase who should get away with every out of position play and so on.

So what happened to Kerrigan happened to Sonya. Nerf after nerf and now she is in most scenarios an below average character.

One of the reasons I stopped playing this game btw. It’s kind of a joke when you see nowadays that even mages (in particular Orphea and Jaina with 13) out trait bruisers. Something is seriously wrong with the design team.

I can’t justify picking her over Thrall or Artanis after her rework.

Sonya was great before the latest reworks.
She is now either a Whirlwind bot, which dies to any form of CC or isn’t even picked.

Sad actually.

Yeah, the dmg loss is a sad trade-off, but it’s the only way to give Sonya at least a 2nd cc + gapcloser - and cc it the thing that makes bruisers so viable in the current meta. I - too - always go Leap if I play Sonya at all. Lately I prefer Rexxar, Imperius or even ETC as offlane bruiser (besides squishier options like Thrall and Xul).

Thats the thing, why break out ww until the Misha stun has been used.

Just go aa build, with paint, get health based on AA and after u slam misha you get more healing on your next basic attack, and if you run out of fury, hit D more fury, more dmg, more healing, misha BYE BYE!!!

didn’t you hear blizzard wants this game to be a cluster of no intelligence required to play.

sonya’s WW heal, malthael soul rip, ragnaros empower sulfuras all got nerfed huge, it use to be pretty damn good if 3 melee or 3 hereos up close would come up to you and try to kill these 3 heroes above, you could actually heal and punish dumb players for not thinking that they’re giving you free heals due to the talents picks and aoe healing they get from those ablities.

i mean those abliities all freaking suck using WW, soul rip, empower sulfuras in 1v1 fights they do almost no healing. game is just all about diving in on one hero without much punishment.

now these 3 heroes above i mention can barley survive up close vs 3 melee or hitting 3 heroes to get the extra benefits from their talents. due to those abilities being greatly nerfed to suck vs mutliple heroes, even though thats what its suppose to do is punish bad players who just need to CC, reduce healing, stay away and go for someone else instead of all diving in on one target without giving it a second thought on which hero your whole team is diving at cmon! blizzard!.

on top of that CS varian already destroyed the old version of those heroes with his reduce armor and giving reduce healing to those heroes anyways, now he really destroys them in team fights in the new one - 5 armor nerf to CS varian is nothing compared to what the 3 up top received.
