Upcoming balance patch

The problem with it is how it scales when hitting more targets. Hitting 3 targets is 1.5s stun. The more heroes you hit the more value the ult gives your entire team. Avalanche already has huge displacement value so the end stun doesn’t need to exceed 1s in my opinion.

Probably is going to be the next week with the Altered Fates items.

So is likely to get Maiev and Cho’gall reworked.

Cassia definitely needs a good nerf, her winrate is above 60%, they must change the trait that should only give anti-attack armor and No magic armor.
Also reduce the range of Surge of light.

I think they should have choose balance in her hp and damage considering she got basic aa dmg increased by around 7-8% and attack speed by 11% and HP increased by 190 - I think I would go to border between those 2 - Basic AA being 4% instead 7 or 8, atack speed being 1,05 instead 1.11 and hp bonus by 95 instead 190. It would be enough as pre buff (aka 1,5 month ago Cassia) was doing bad.

Nerf Cassiar armor and Deckard healing.

Well a couple heroes would need a nerf for sure, the meta is very very stable right now and starts to be annoying already.

Cassia needs a big nerf to her lvl 7 Surge of light, maybe it would be great to move it to 13 or 16, usually lvl 13 is more a defensive talent tier for most hero so lvl 16 would be more logical, and a cast time delay longer cause you can just spam it like 6 times during a single fight if you get just a bit of healing from your healer or youself, it’s ridiculous.
I dont think she needs a massive nerf otherwise, maybe just nerf a bit her lvl 1 talent that splash aas, reduce a bit the damage of that and we would be good.
Rest of her kit and stats is balanced to me.

Mei doesnt need a nerf imo, only her avalanche heroic does, it’s way too strong.
You can literally send out of postion 5 heroes stunned for 2.5 secs and send them behind your gate or super far.
The range of it should be nerfed, or it shouldnt go throught walls or the added stun times shouldnt be 0.5 sec but much less already.
not mentionning the super low CD, but even just by increasing the CD, it would not fix the issue.

Tassadar Archon is imo way too busted, the simple fact that your basic attacks reduce spell armor by 30 percent is wayy too broken, Archon doesnt need that to be good, just make it maybe -5 spell armor that stacjs up to 10 or 15, and Twilight Archon at 20 shouldnt be able to stay up for more than 25/30 secs, let’s put a maximum active time on this.

So next hero imo that needs nerf is less known in lower leagues but almost perma banned in pro lvl and higher levels:
Yrel.
Yrel is super strong at the moment and I feel it’s good because she is hard to play well.
But her talents are the same all the time, she needs a nerf on her lvl1 Daundless, maybe not 50armor but like 35 ? Maybe longer cd on her self root removable at 4. She has massive stats already, adding an extra 50armor permantly pretty much is too strong and is the major reason why she is broken too.

I also feel Imperius is slightly too strong, he got banned massivelly in pro leagues and is a very solid hero when played properly, he needs a damage nerf imo.

I like that Bloodlust meta got back at some point but we need a slight nerf on it (a movement speed nerf would be the most logical to me, 35% to 25%) right now as it is too much prioritized in the current meta, especially that it pairs super well with the other broken heroes mentionned on top and you cant ban all of them every game, this starts to be annoying.

I finally feel Deathwing is balanced, good job Blizzard.

On a sort of related note, Mei is now 10k.

I want probious nerfed to the ground, baby.

I really hope they don’t touch Maiev. She’s in a decent spot but could use some light tweaks. At most for her I would like Naisha’s memento baseline and a new level 1 talent to replace. Something to boost a knives build or vengeance a bit more.

Not sure what a Cho’Gall rework would like like. He could use some talent refreshes though.

But this is what Zug does. He keeps asking “why why why why” over and over until eventually you’re forced to give an opinion, at which point, he’ll pull the “Well thats your opinion” card.

My personal favorite is “Why does it do too much damage?” It’s a question that goes no where. It’s a dead-end question unless you say “because it just does”, which is the point of the trap argument, to put you in an indefensible position where you can be immediately dismissed as unintelligent if you say what he’s trying to get you to say.

I’d be fine with that. I’d also be fine if they just added a short cooldown. The fact that this ability has no cooldown is BONKERS. If you’re being focused and burned down, you can just turn around and Kamikaze into the enemy team and chunk them all for 50% of their max HP before you die.

That’s not a trap question, it’s a question that requires framework to be answered.

For example, Imperius’s hero damage seems strong until you realize how weak his non-hero damage is. Thus there is a trade-off, now if they continue on that point you can argue with statistics and state specifically how the idea plays into said statistic.

The real problem is when they try to tell you that the design element doesn’t exist.

So I have to ask… large enough with respect to what? 3000 seems like a large enough sample, unless it’s 3000 out of 1M (not saying there’s 1M games, just using that as a frame of reference). If it were 3000 out of 5000, I could see how extrapolating data could be useful, but we don’t know the upper limit, so I’m a bit skeptical about these numbers. Furthermore, what are the parameters of the upload? If two people from the same game upload their replay, does data from each replay count toward the collected data? I’m not arguing the against the conclusion, I’m just curious why these numbers are the back bone of every argument and how they can be taken as “holy” so often (Sorry for the questions! I’m a mathematician IRL, so I look at numbers a bit differently than most people).

That’s taking focus away from the talent itself. If we’re talking about Flash of Anger, then you took the bait and swung the debate from “Should this talent be this strong?” to examining every other part of his kit that isn’t the talent to figure out if the talent’s stength is merited.

I hate this argument. I loathe when people say “Yeah its broken, but he has weaknesses in category, so he should keep it.”

Zug pretty much said this on the talent discussion page when he acknowledged that Crystallize is a mandatory talent but justified its strength by pointing to Mei’s weaknesses.

If a talent is broken, it needs to be fixed. If the hero has a problem in another area, that’s another separate discussion.

No, I didn’t. NEVER did I say it was broken. Not one time. You took my words and made them your own for the sake of your “argument”.

Way to miss the mark… again. Keep me out of your conversations. I don’t have a dog in this fight, nor do I have the time to argue with you. You have no idea what a civilized debate should look like and resort to childish behavior. You are Whitemane with an Alex avatar.

The problem is that your argument completely undermines a framework for which to gauge it by.

With no framework the only metric of “balance” is a vague emotion about how being blown up by “X talent” feels.

No framework also lacks a critical understanding of why the talent is overpowered. Perhaps it’s not the talent itself, but the synergy that causes the talent to be too powerful. Thus you’re completely uninformed to make a valid solution.

That said, don’t gauge every talent based on pick-rate. Some talents simply don’t work with the primary attribute of the hero.

Hmm…

Cool, so it is mandatory, and mandatory talents are a problem. I’m glad we agree! I’ll see you in the patch notes when Mei gets nerfed!

It’s not often you meet someone who forms and defeats their own arguments. So handy!

So base it on stats then? Good look convincing anyone on these forums. They think HP is a joke. Hard to convince anyone with stats if they don’t think the stats are real.

Without stats, all you have is the anecdotal. That’s why I don’t argue with people like that.

I can’t have this childish debate with you again. You’re taking meaning from my words that wasn’t there to fit your own argument. You do you, kiddo.
