I wish there was a separate Q for people like this.
Don’t want players who think like that on my team, even if they were gods. I would rather suffer a crushing defeat with everyone trying than having whiny players deciding for themselves that the rest of the team isn’t good enough, so they afk.
Maybe don’t play Dia Storm League then, because that’s HotS, and don’t do things you know don’t work just because you don’t know what else to do. You would actually have a better time both with attitude and with w/l record if you tried to be more of a leader for your teammates instead of whining about them even if they suck
didn’t you ever watch Initial D? Do you have a soul inside of you or not
Seriously?
That is the best suggestion I heard for a long time.
“Just be a leader for your teammates”
Yeah sure. They either:
never listen
think they know better
anything you say can be taken as ‘abusive chat’
So no, I don’t want my account banned.
Anyway, if you lack competitiveness, why do you even play SL?
You can chill out in QM or UR.
BTW, having enemies that suck hard is the problem with this game. Taking bloated MMR from Team League which was clownfiesta since ever and placing those people in higher leagues is something Blizz screwed hard. Not talking about the December 2017 tipple placement reset and fail.
Not sure how you, but I don’t have the mood, nor the willingness to teach people BASIC principles of this game in D1 league. If they don’t know it, they shouldn’t be there in the first place.
Well, not sure about you, but after my ~5.5k games, I mostly know when the game is over.
You may not like it or do it differently, but when someone throws, he throws.
Not sure which ranks you play, but it is impossible to carry a throwing player in higher leagues against enemies with at least a bit of brain.
There are multiple ways to not have to deal with this;
First, and it is within your control… don’t play the game or MOBAs.
Second, turn off team chat (not a great idea, but if you have weak mental constitution, go for it)
Third, examine your playing and determine if you should be playing PVP or if you still need to be practicing against bots instead (can’t say I’ve ever heard these things in bot matches).
Fourth, realize some games ARE lost within the first 5 minutes because if you’ve played enough, you will recognize a type of player that is going to cost you the game. Examples, a Moralis that attempts to act like an assassin, or having suicidal murky on your team against a butcher on the other team eating it up and getting to 300 meat within the first 5 min of the game. Or maybe you get stuck with a bot healer/main tank and the other team sees that and utilizes that (doesn’t mean give up, but unless your team plays smart, it’s over).
If you are the main tank/healer and you are busy laning during a team fight because “someone has to” then those team mates are right. A team relies on everyone filling their role, and when Deckard cain goes to push back bot lane while obj is up and the teams are even in lvls, then you need to go back to learning the basics (that is why there are bots, for you to learn your hero AND learn which hero is best for doing the various things… don’t get camps solo as Li-ming unless there is absolutely nothing else you can do for your team).
Dude the feeling is mutual believe me. Like hey if you wanna spend your game time feeding every last second … be my guest just not in my game. LOL
As poster above me says… play enough and you can just tell after while. About 5,000 games or more will do that to you. Its like groundhog day… only its in a game… And you also know where small possiblity may exist but it requires “over and above”… and you have to decide if thats the kind of game you want to even play… or enjoy. Over and above…or did you log in for something else that requires 4 other players with some measure of intelligence.
Get to 10k or more and you realize just how much Blizzard didn’t care to keep this game alive.
Absolutely agreed. I don’t give up, but at this point I just know when a game is irredeemably lost no matter what you personally do. It’s not often, but it happens.
You know the type of match already. The team will refuse to soak experience. They randomly die over and over, so that the score board shows between 3 to 6 deaths on every teammate before you even hit level 10 (they will use your 0 death as a weapon against you)
They wont go and channel the objective. They refuse to defend any structures, so that you have 1 keep vs their 6 keeps and forts at level 13.
It’s very tempting to go AFK at this point, while you see your teammate die for his 9th time in 11 minutes. The only reason I don’t do it, to be frank, is to avoid the leaver penalty. But the end result was already visible within the first ~5 minutes of the game. The game was lost the moment the matchmaker put these people on your side.
The icing on the cake is observing the matchmaking rating of teammates. Some of them are as low as 600-1200, which is something below bronze. Even if you are at 2500-3000. Many of them are still doing placement games.
zzz yeah, 85% of the people on this forum have lost enough games to recognize someone throwing. I get that it can be really annoying, especially when your calls get ignored and no priorities are ever taken care of. Everyone also has days when they don’t want to put in the effort of actually trying to be a good teammate; you already acknowledged you’re doing literally nothing useful calling gg early except signalling your clairvoyance to your team. Good self-fulfilling prophecy, bro, I don’t know where you get off whining to your teammates and then calling other people ‘not competitive’ when you call gg early. That type of behavior is not part of any respectable competition outside of reality TV. It’s worth it to practice leadership skills instead, your attitude and your performance only go up.
At least instead of saying “gg” (even if you claim to still keep trying until the end of the game, which on a social level isn’t constituted by calling ‘gg’), just tell your teammates exactly what happened. If you have some bad player ignoring calls and blaming other people for them being an idiot, once your team is all dead and the other team is ending, that’s a great time to lay down the specifics of the loss, as truly honestly as you can. Because that’s the time for useful post-game commentary, not during. The good part (for you) is, the more compassionate of a leader you try to be to your teammates, the more impact it’s going to have when you say ‘we lost because of (probably) a lot of reasons, but when you got camps instead of going core after our ONLY won teamfight in the game, you sealed the loss. What did you think was going to happen? 0 value camp in a lane with a full keep and wall while we get to 14% on core while only missing you… Do you think your hero can deal 3,000 damage in 30 seconds? Because that’s how much we lost the game by when they EVENTUALLY respawned after everyone pinged you to come for 30 seconds straight.’
It’s information they can take to future games, and they’ll probably also remember that you stayed positive until the end, which just offers more credence to your analysis at the end. That + lots of proactive shotcalling and positivity is how one should behave imo. Obvs if your bad teammate wasn’t toxic maybe you’d have a more empathetic end-game message but I know a lot of throwers are also toxic (ones who don’t respond to calls anyway)
People want to act like 5 stacks don’t have an advantage but not having to deal with super bads or just QQ cry babies is the biggest advantage anyone could ever ask for.
The problem is how difficult it is to get a 5 stack going regularly. Not having to deal with afk’s, griefers, throwers, feeders and so on is a massive advantage. It makes the game much more fun to play when you can focus on gameplay instead of wondering why you have yet another player just sitting at the fort not moving for 3 minutes, or crying after he died twice.
But gathering that party daily or even weekly is an impassable obstacle for much of the community, even those whose friend list is full of active players.
I can tell you right now my Five Stack gets to play maybe once a week, sometimes we need to wait till the week after. Its extremely frustrating at times but we were all solo or duo players for years prior to the group and its just so hard to go back to that these days.
I honestly hate it. I use to que solo forever, maybe a Duo or Three man every here and there, and I had a lot of fun. idk what happened but as the years past the game kinda went down the drain. I felt the quality of players just diminish to the point where being a solo player wasn’t fun any more.
I personally think that Unranked needs to be revamped and turned into this game’s tutorial.
During the draft, there need to be tips that appear on screen. These would include synergies, counter picks, map mechanics, ban advice, AND ESPECIALLY explanation of how the game progresses and the “comeback mechanic” comes into play, all adapting in real time as the draft goes on.
I’m so sick and tired of people choosing Zul’jin after the enemy team drafts Johanna + Li Li, or Cassia + Artanis. So many people just don’t understand the game and I think it’s Blizzard’s duty to inform newer players of these mechanics so they don’t get fed up and just quit.
This game needs more players, and Blizzard is doing a horrible job at retaining them and molding them to become permanent, skilled players in the future.
no one cares about this. if your team mates are dumb they are dumb. thats it. nothing you can say is going to change that. not worth the silence either lol. Just let it end. not worth anyones time. better to let the game finish earlier so you get another one. life is too short to waste personal time or pretty much any time spent with a bunch of turkeys. Best thing is you get a new game and luckily with some smarter people. They get another game too… where they can keep on turkeying.
If you are real good… game is 10 minutes or less. Average 15 minutes. Worst case scenario you get some try hard goodie two shoes or one of his/her friends who thought their 80 deaths was worth trying to fight back for. So 25 minutes tops. Its a good time to fit in some videos from your online defensive driving course.
in the end you spend a lot less time being frustrated (which is bad for your heart and not reason why you played game to begin with) . The very best thing to do with unskilled /low skilled or just otherwise careless team mates is to completely ignore them and let them do what they do best… lose the game for you and quickly. no use pretending… and in the end if you do it right… they will think you’re honestly trying… (thats harder to pull off though especially when you realize game is a waste of 20 min).
So your argument is that drawing out a losing game increases the amount of time spend in a state of frustration, which is bad for the heart.
Unfortunately, your argument relies on a state of frustration to really make sense. Were you to take better care of your body, mind and spirit, perhaps you could then withstand losing a game in which you tried to win until the end, without causing yourself heart problems. Same goes for a lot of people in this thread.
Ironically you are usually the weak link in your games. 45% win rate says a lot about your play. I am sure your the type that rages at the first mistake / bump in the road, and badmouths while afking.
The weak willed really should not play this game. Accept some personal responsibility, keep your mental, and play the freaking game without quitting / babyfits. Thanks…
Your argument relies on going to a restaurant and smiling when they bring you a turd instead of steak. That’s not taking care of body, mind and spirit, that’s either delusion or just love of turds, which is another story. When the matchmaker serves you a turd it’s a turd, no matter how you look at it.
