Okay, fixed it. But I really hate the new youtube uploading method. I always need to edit the videos after posting them, cuz even if I set them to public prior to posting, they get posted as private -.-
much better :3
I think this is a fine weakness tbh. He became even better at pvp, so it makes sense that his pve got nerfed hard.
I actually like how they went for “increased duration” instead of “decreasing cooldown”. As a side note, this also make split nerf smaller I expected.
Big nerf to splitpushing empty lanes but not that big of a nerf to splitpushing against enemy laners. This doesnt seem to be that big :’
Honestly, current functionality feels far more healthy.
I would say big buff to pushing against enemy laners tbh, which ends up being a net buff to his splitpush IMO. Just not for the camps part.
And on the camps part, it really just comes down to, he takes them slower. I’m down to miss health afterwards I guess but it sucks being so slow. Burning Blade is now the best for camps but it’s just not worth the tradeoff when you miss Crushing Blows. They crush, man.
I’m just happy I got to play 500-800 games or whatever of old splitpush Samuro before they changed him, not like finding out I loved Time Trap build Chromie for 5 days before they reworked her out of the blue and it ceased to exist.
Zagara? xD
Nydus basically let’s you do both
Granted I like playing Sammy and take IM most of the time but don’t care to use it for split pushing. Will have to give this stuff a whirl, thought I feel a few of his other talents should be looked at before the ults /shrug
-Edit for additional comment-
Apparently I’m sleeping not sure how this patch and its patch notes slipped under my nose. Guess I have some reading to do.
I only played because I wanted to learn to play well. Samuro practiced it a lot because he seemed like a hero with an interesting mechanic who could only get good performance when you practiced enough with him. Now you have destroyed Samuro and you have turned him into an ordinary hero that only serves in TF, if that is the case because we remember that he is a melee killer who does not even heal like Sonya or Qhira. Very unfortunate changes for those who played Samuro with enthusiasm, now I have no incentive to play what I played before. In fact, just a week ago I bought the new golden base of the character, money thrown away, thank you very much.
Nerf of “Way of Illusion” talent is old news, but since they lowered his base AA damage with recent tweaks I assumed this increased the value of flat + 30 damage and decided to do some tests in the test mode. “Way of Illusion” is worse than “Way of Blade” in every possible scenario I can think of and this is comparing Samuro’s damage alone and not taking into account, that armor debuf granted by “Way of Blade” also increases damage of Samuro’s teammates. Can someone enlighten me here if I missed something? For me it’s like this: You get a quest, you have to work on it. You don’t get bonuses instantly, but later in the game and at the end you are worse of not even taking into account sacrificing your utility to your team, but your own damage alone. Similar nonsense in the sustained damage department: You make more damage alone with “Crushing Blows” and “Press the Attack” than with “Phantom Pain” and “Merciless Strikes” when your team gives you constant CC on your enemy and allows you to crit 100% of the time.
No, on the contrary. He is actually a more healthy and more fun macro hero with even better duels and less of a walking-on-thin-ice gameplay. But you still have to be good to do the crazy stuff (team-fight wise). If you miss being able to cap both shrines and get the DK in short order by yourself, or soloing bosses, I understand. I was lucky to have hundreds of games of enjoying that before I got bored and now he, for me, is fresh and a lot more fun. You can tell I’m sincere because my name is Jamuro.
WoI has stronger opening damage and stronger burst out of the gate. You can switch targets without losing damage and the CB more-frequent-crit timer works to make you doublecrit every time which is pretty easy to maximize DPS from. I would say they are both good and I would recommend taking WoI against teams you can stack against who also have squishies you want to swap onto, while you take WotB for everything else because it is somewhat easier to use, less easy to maximize in a TF but a lot easier to shred tanks with (despite WoI being easier to stack on tanks, but that’s… different)
Yes, that is indeed kind of weird and I expect them to make some adjustments. Considering PP is the only talent McS would actually work with, the main benefit over CB at that point is that you get the damage even if you can’t maximize your auto attack timings with PtA and that every PP crit is lowering your swap CD, which really only matters imo on Illusion Master. We’ll see after some time what will happen or if it is actually ok the way it is.

My best Sam game so far with that build.
These Samuro nerfs are crippling.
looks like a good game for you to be hitting a lot of damage-dealers without taking damage long enough to do 91k. ![]()
Previous sam might have struggled with a vikings on the team like that
Tbh that vikings player carried hard, look at the exp
But I played well. Was everywhere in the fights even with bladestorm. I got some sick bladestorms in fights as well. Just needed to be smart and watch some cooldowns. Because of the nature of the objective, I was able to hit 3-5 man bladestorms and when they started focusing me I just cancelled it and swapped back while my team just ate them.
Was a nice game.
The only thing good is that Samaro actually self heals, but that’s about it?
Yeah the vikings player looked like they did really well on the soak. The bladestorm cancel swap strat sounds dope, haven’t played enough games to have wanted to do that but that sounds smart and smooth, you will do great things with Samuro. Hopefully they fix IM soon so you can try messing around with people with fake heroes, but it’s actually awesome bladestorm is way more viable now and can even be used in fights as long as you’re smart like you were.
Nah there is a ton of good stuff in this patch for samuro. Might not look like it from the notes considering he was most known for splitpush and global rotations and whatnot but now he is a way more wholesome hero who is just a great laner and who does even more damage now than he did before (sustained damage instead of burst, which feels a lot more rewarding considering his sustain mechanics of swapping around and using Q to absorb damage, compared to “ok guys im going in and popping everything BAM I killed tyrande from 90% health because she existed, now everything is on CD and Ima kinda just wait back here for a bit with so much of my kit being warped and ignored in lieu of this oneshot burst cheese”)
I think IM is too much for me
I know what to do in theory, I am just not fast enough D:
Just ignore real samuro and play the clones. The speed will come.
And then I die with real Sam

"But I was playing with the clones moooooooooooooom
"
watching grubby’s samuro “overexplain game” from like 2 years ago was how i got the confidence to start playing IM. Watch it and go to try mode and practice pressing 2, click around, then quickly press 3, click around, then quickly press 1, click around, then quickly press 2 etcetcetc. and your brain will make sense of it pretty fast.
People are intimidated by IM but it’s honestly not as hard as people think, just have fun with it and then you will naturally start doing good stuff just by having a good time
I’ll try it when they fixed him then. For now I’ll just enjoy bladestorm
He is way better IMO, bladestorm cooldown is only 25 seconds now, you can even use it to clear camps faster, and he also finally have some kind of sustain, even if it’s a week one.
