Context matters tho. I’m sure he did not know better but the others saw it as trolling and reported him.
Its like what happens in GW when I do meta maps. Some people would keep dying to the same boss attack and wait to get ressed and do it again. Also some people have slow reaction time so they many times end up getting killed casue they did not noties what was attacking them.

So, did you bother to read this line, think how it applies to yourself, and then grow an ounce of self-awareness before you posted it? Or is this another instance of someone convincing themselves they’re gonna 'save ‘merica’ by buying up ballcaps and bumper stickers that repeat the same phrases they parrot online?

Are you referring to the instance that you claimed happened in 2021/2022, which was before the game moved into maintenance mode? I know they were issuing those types of suspensions before the game went into maintenance mode, but that was over 2 years ago.
The OP asked if the reporting system does anything “anymore” so I assume they know it used it work at some point. I think most of us old-timers know the system used to work, but doesn’t seem to work the same way since maintenance mode.
To be clear no one actually know if it works properly casue none of us works for Blizz so that kind of information we wont know. You just report people and then assume it dont works becasue you see someone with the same name a month later.
If people search the names then they will find multiple accounts with the same name but they have different battletags so how would you know which account you actually reported a month ago when you dont know the battletag you reported ?
Thats where the problem comes up. People assume there are only one player with that unique name and then they keep saying reporting him dont work cause he is still running around months later.
You could have been reporting multiple people with that name. And then get frustrated that reporting dont work cause he still plays. Also reporting people need aleast alot of unique reports not just your own. So if its only you who report the troll every game then ofc nothing will happen and then people will keep spreading misinformation that it dont work.
Atleast some years ago you got E-Mails that told you action was taken on someone you reported in the past but you dont really know if that was true. Mostly becasue they never wrote you who it was and what he did.
So the answer to OP’s question should really be: None of us really know if it really works casue we have no proof it does.

I’m not sure what you’re searching to report players. At the end of the match, there is a little icon on the stats page I use to report players. In addition, when you click on that icon, there’s an option to view their profile, which shows their name and unique btag number in the upper left hand corner. If I were to make another Dreyda account, this particular account will still be the only one with the unique #1763 attached to it. That’s how I know it’s the same account.
When viewing a profile, you can also see their Hero levels, so when I see the account has Leoric over level 500 and an abysmal win rating, I can tell they’ve been running it down for quite a while.
Yes. I got perma-banned because of trolls reporting me the past five years.
