Why though? You never made a “nerf this” or “remove this hero” or “forced 50%” post. I defend the Mega threads like your Meme thread as being useful as entertainment and something that helps to bond a community. I would wager you have made more useful threads than simply entertaining ones.
None of those threads were a problem once, as back then the forums were well populated. The traffic has now declined to a trickle of what it was even a year ago, so these threads rise to the top along with the usual silly and annoying complaint threads.
I’ve learned some very useful things from guides people have posted here. On a personal level it’s the people who post on a regular that keep me returning, this is not related to how useful their posts are. That’s just me though. Personally you and other people have given me a laugh I wouldn’t have had on unhappy days and I appreciate that as much as the insights and hero guides posted.
I’ll wait and see if the forums improve after we get some form of new content. The lack of anything new to discuss and no communication about that from those in charge can’t be encouraging people to keep posting here.
Again, if people want actual serious discussion with serious responses these threads need to go in the first place because like I said, they saturate the front page and put actual high quality discussion in the bottom.
Obviously no one wants that and so am I, but there’s a lot of attributes that hurt them from responding in the first place.
I think the devs just posted there because they didn’t want to go in a debate on balance power level etc.
I remember when a Dev came in and asked someone what they didn’t like about the original Hanamura map, so they could improve it. And the answer was "I’m not gonna do your job for you, you figure it out"
If I was in their shoes, I wouldn’t bother either.
There is a difference between responding to “quality threads” and teasing announcements. Ultimately, the posts on Reddit aren’t actually discussing anything. It’s literally just talking about the upcoming patch with content that’s already in the pipeline.
Even the “quality threads” here are people looking for answers. You can’t really engage with that unless the answer is “yes, we’re already doing this”, because people are stupid. People latch on to everything like it’s an unbreakable vow.
I think you can make arguments for the value of “fun” threads vs “serious” threads. I personally feel both are needed on any forum, they just serve different purposes.
Yet it’s not always the case. I still have very fond memories from the old forums when they were reworking support Tyrande back to a healer. They were very active in that thread and I know they incorporated some ideas LCD/Amei (I flatter myself) and maybe some of mine into her rework.
The Blues can choose which threads they interact with, they can ignore the fluff. It sells them short to suggest they can’t sift though the threads to find substantial topics to engage with, just because the more silly stuff rises to the top.
It’s just personal opinion, but if this forum was only focused on “serious discussions” it wouldn’t hold much appeal for me. I prefer a balance of the entertaining and the serious.
True, many of the complaints I see from posters on the forums aren’t about lack of Dev interaction with particular posts, but just a lack of any news about upcoming content.
If you sort by new there’s a mix of good posts there discussing game tactics and so on, here’s a recent one as an example, if not you can always sort by flair.
I wouldn’t straight up say Reddit is better, in fact they are both equally bad in content as we speak when the rule 5 “avoid low quality posts” is now a huge grey area with image posting allowed there that it has been risen up.
They did. But they gave a few answers before tons of users descended on them with their pet peeves and complaints, . And there was less and less interation.
I know, even in the AZ Jackson farewell post people threw insults and got into convoluted and off topic arguments. I’m not blaming the blues for not interacting with threads, I just don’t think the main reason is due to the quality of threads. If I was in their position and knew I’d get a ton of abuse thrown at me, I wouldn’t post either.
TBH, at this point if they just had a “news” feed that was locked where they posted about updates in the pipeline and dates for new content that would be enough.
There you go! I was trying to wonder what happened as some people were making it out that Blizz were monsters and cutting firing people from the company left, right and centre. I know that some Devs left for real but from what I scouted upon is they’re landed in another big company which is fantastic. Thanks for confirming it :d
Those were abilities lost as a support and you already know I’m with you that I prefer Support Tassadar, I play very little assassin Tassadar. Comparing Tassadar to the other mages in the roster, I think he has a lot more utility. This is the part that makes him unique, Force Wall, Talents for a shield, Oracle, Shadow Walk, Khala’s Gift.
Yeah though, you got me, I still prefer old Tassadar and he was a far more unique as a support than he is as a mage.
I think the problem with old Tass was his healing from burbble only worked best on a auto attacker hero. On a mage his lifesteal from shield was useless. Compared to Medivh and Aba that can heal more effective regardless of hero.
