When selecting random hero select and when my friend and I both select favorite hero his heroes are mine and my heroes are his picks.
Not certain about the queueing with a friend swap effect, but I believe this bug triggers only when they activate an XP bonus for random selection. When the bonus is not active I think it properly restricts auto select to your chosen selection (favorites, class types).
