You do not know the process of designing a game or the function of each dev.
what I fail in this game is the “developer player bridge”
AZJackson was a good example of a developer player bridge being present. You don’t even know what you’re talking about.
The game’s heavy emphasis on teams is actually what makes me really enjoy healers. It’s also why you can only get so far with a solo mindset. Like waterlong says or Trip’s Nova example, it works…up until the point it doesn’t because the other team actually works as a team.
Morales is one of my highest win rate healers, and many games, I feel like this angel that has an undeniable presence that empowers my team, even when they’re not that good. The great thing about these cooperative multiplayer pvp games is to play WITH other people.
I actually get a fair bit of compliments when healing, but of course, healer is generally my best role that I play disproportionately more.
But it really goes back to this, and Trips is so on point. People are better at different roles and will have variable confidence in how they can make a difference. I often feel more helpless when I’m not playing healer because that’s just the role I’m confident in playing. Like I can feel great in the amount of pressure I can apply as Probius alone, but if my team is dying elsewhere (which could be because of bad healing or tanking or damage), suddenly they can rotate on me which reduces my ability to push. It’s all connected.
One of the interesting things about a healer though is that you are forced to watch what everyone is doing, so you generally have a really good idea of why things are going bad from multiple vantage points. While someone who plays other roles, can often be completely oblivious.
I’m willing to bet that a lack of healers is due to 2 things.
First and probably biggest reason is how often bad players insult their healers. I see this all the time in low rank games when I’m watching a friend paly or doing arams. Like how often do you see people say “healer difference”. Even when you know your performance had nothing to do with why valla wants to 1v5.
It sucks.
2nd I think people (in low ranks) have this idea that healers are there to heal and dont consider all the other things healers do or aren’t team oriented enough players that they just cant preform the other things healers do.
When many healers do much more then heal. Some are even very capable of getting solo kills.
In my play group if anything we often fight over who gets to heal and even my current ngs team has 3 healers mains : p
It really feels like after a certain point something clicks and healer starts to feel extremely rewarding.
With tanks basically everyone I talk to says when people don’t follow up you feel useless. Imo tanks can carry a game the hardest of any role and its not even close but people have to work together to make it happen.
I wanna blame people training them selves to be good solo players and not good team players for both of these again.
Yeah everything here is correct, but the thing is i just cant stop voicing my disgust of it because -it matters!-
Just too bad they failed with everything related to the game and panic reacted by having speed over quality.
Why does it matter?
Actually not that long if ye know how to play by them and with them :
- Do not play them alone.
- Nazeebo must know what build : spiders or frogs. Depends of which healer enemies have. Spiders agaisnt AOE healer.
- Ye may added a burst mage to Nazeebo: Li min, Orhea, Jaina. Or AA burst Grey.
- For Butcher need a tank or bruiser - ganker : Muradin, Anub’Arak, Imperius for example.
Frog damage isn’t very impactful before you are fully stacked at level 20, it is mostly for damage padding and area denial. Spiders are a must if you ever hope to beat someone 1v1 and there’s a niche option of going zombies in a heavy CC setups where you basically help single out weakest players.
Your approach to minion waves shouldn’t be to clear it fast as possible but to use weakened npc targets as easy opportunities to attack mobile enemy heroes with your spiders. Initial damage from the Jar isn’t that crazy high anyway and is only slightly stronger than a single tick from an individual spider attack.
Does still do damage tho which means it applies his passive to about half the wave.
Butcher yes, Naz no, Naz is extremely over bloated and an easy to play hero, so easy all you have to do is spam all your garbage on the minion wave and rotate.
Concerned about mana while doing this? PICK BLOOD RITUAL THEN.
Bro is literally so easy to play you can complete vile infection quest without even be present in combating the other player in the lane.
And all those peopel start complaining getting dived, bro literally a skill issue.
Not exactly. Ye just need to take spell damage at level 1, and 25% damage from frogs at level 7. Good against a 3 melee or low mobility frontline + against a single target healer. Stacks at level 20 are just the bonus. Now few games end at 20 vs. 20. Usually games end with a difference of 2-3 levels.
If I’m in the mood to play Naz, then I’m in the mood to play lazy and Blood Ritual is a good sustain talent, with bonus stacks for just being near hero take-downs.
From observing other Naz players, it seems they prefer Big Voodoo, over Blood Ritual. However, there is a reason the Devs reduced the passive Voodoo Ritual stacks from 5 (maybe 6) to 3, as this talent made an already easy hero, even easier to get value from.
Blood Ritual is really powerful regardless, Big Voodoo is nice cuz it gives you a flat extra 600 - 1000 HP by the end, which is ok I guess but IMO it doesn’t help in the mana management.
Blood Ritual does a lot of things that you can get an effective health point economy and mana economy that allows you to pretty much freeze your mana going down by level 4, and by level 10 you gain more than you lose due how it works, so what you end up with is a hero who can take care of himself just because he dealt damage to someone, the +3 on takedown is also good and the condition for the healing does not specify a target, meaning anything dies under your damage or toad poison (regardless of being the final blow) grants the healing, making heroes like Zagara and Xul throwing you free health and mana as a hero who has a lot of AoE in his base kit that can do a lot even if blocked by summoners somewhat, while on maps like Infernal Shrine you can regain up to 80% effective health and mana per objective!!!
In double soak you gain 14% + 9.6% = 23.6% for health and mana each lane, quite a lot of restoration that will have more impact in the long run more than Big Voodoo will give.
I’d even say that Big Voodoo is a meme, big numbers and all but it’s not helpful like having your mana frozen prior of team fights because you are hard double soaking for Vile Infection.
I almost never take Big Voodoo, my go to is Blood Ritual or (to a lesser extent) Hexed Crawlers for the reasons you stated. I remember having this conversation with Yusuke, who stated that Big Voodoo was a sustain talent, but really it’s not, the other two talents are.
As you noted, with Blood Ritual you alleviate most of Naz’s mana tension by level 4 and the healing benefits, along with the passive stacks on take-downs, make BR a very attractive pick. Blood Ritual is particularly strong ARAM where take-downs are more frequent, and well, you have only one lane to gather stacks.
I agree, which i why I almost never take the talent. The reason I was reluctant to sing the praises of Blood Ritual over Big Voodoo, is my personal observation that 95% of Naz players opt for BV. I thought perhaps I was missing some context which makes BV such a popular talent choice.
Please continue to advocate for BR to the nazeebos out there. Because literally I thought BV was a basic passive ability like hatred is to valla, from how many people go for the wretched thing.
Big Voodoo gets to be primary because back in the day the other two wouldn’t provide much until both got buffed, and with the mini rework naz got spider have improved in giving more healing and mana while Blood Ritual provide stacks for fights 3 is small but it gets quite a lot if you get a few kills and its nothing to scope of.
Yea, I totally agree.
