I have said this before in another thread but it probably was never really seen.
I think with QM you should pick 3 heroes you want to play and then it has the brawl select screen. You can see the map you’re going to be on and see the other heroes other people are picking.
You can still play the one you came in for but at least you would have the chance to try to setup something with your team. And I think it would encourage more people to play tanks and healers. Partly because the other team might pick em (like in brawl) and partly at least for healers, they don’t’ play them because you don’t get a tank and the enemy team could just dive you the entire time.
It’s not a perfect solution but people want balanced match making and people also want to play whatever hero they want. Those don’t combine. But giving you the choice to at least see the map and what other heroes your team wants to play could smooth some of those rough edges.
And you know since somebody will mention “but if you don’t pick what your team wants you’ll get bullied!” you could have it so you don’t have to have 3 heroes picked. It could be “up to 3” so nobody can bully you to switch to another hero. All things considered nothing changes if everyone queues up with 1 hero, but if people go up to 3 things could get interesting.
None of that would ever happen because it requires the 2 people left on the team to do a lot of work, but I honestly think it would make QM a bit more fun and balanced while still giving you crazy comps and allowing you to play who you want to play.
