Public Service Annoucement for those of you thinking you should be higher rank

You’re all wrong, the most fun role is sitting AFK in the Nexus core as Abathur.

Darn, I though that Eric solo tank was the most fun myself…

I was mistaken, most fun is Assassin Li Li.

Seriously though, playing assassin Li Li carries me from Plat back into Diamond last HL season!

Well; solo-healer-assassin Li Li!

The funny part is, this is a perfectly valid way to play Li Li lol.

Honestly, at low levels. Counting on a tank or a healer to do their job is ludicrous.

If you want to push it to extremes, you’re probably right, but that’s not realistic, or reflective of lower skilled players. You play your best role, end of story. As a support main, I did not climb with DPS or tanking, and you probably wouldn’t want me on your team either.

It’s also ridiculously easy to win team fights as a superior support if their support is worse than you. You can control the flow of battle just by following where the group needs healing even if they’re incredibly dumb. You can also be fairly aggressive in lower ranks leading your team as a support. Bad players just can’t easily capitalize on killing you the way master/GM players can. If you want to engage, you just run in whether your team wants to or not, and run out back into your team and your team usually has no choice but to engage lol.

I don’t hope my team is better, by the very fact that I AM there, makes my team better.

Being DPS is the best way YOU climbed. Everyone has an impact.

The there is mainly assassin mains on the GM list in a game where you usually fit more assassins into a group, when you only need one tank and support, is like, well duh…

Haha, you know, it’s weird. I probably end up playing support BECAUSE I don’t have to depend on somebody worse than me playing one on a team. What makes me an awful assassin is playing as if I was healing myself and not getting those heals I know I could pull off if I were playing.

It is an element of not having to be dependent on your teammates, but just in a different way (even though you obviously do). In that sense I am in control, and for ME, that’s what makes it fun.

When you look at GM player statistics, the vast majority of them only play Assassins. It may not be clear why, but it’s definitely a trend worth noting.

You obviously don’t ever play in the lower leagues. Nobody is going to listen to a shot caller, assuming that players are going to activate voice chat. The strengths of what you are suggesting are obvious, playing on a pre-made team has its advantage over solo queue in that the team has likely made an agreement on using voice chat and who will be calling shots. Suggesting that a team of 5 solo queue players has the ability to utilize this advantage is naive, at best.
