I had a Azmodan who was pushing bottom when the enemy team with boss pushed through the keep and was about to finish the game with the boss. Then he says “our ETC has no map awareness” even though ETC and the rest of the team was trying to defend the core from being destroyed. Later, I checked his profile and his player level was 2222 lol
i’ve been playing almost every day, atleast every 3 games every 3 days for dailies. (since the first week of the game)
(4,600 games played)
and up until recently i only played vs AI, now-a-days i play Vs Ai and also single lane brawl on the weeks that it is available,
i haven’t played a single ranked game or quickmatch!
and i’m only lv666.
as i see people who are lv1,500 and up i think i can confidently say that level gaining in AI is veeeery slow by comparison to pvp!
I played TL with a friend who is diamond and using my bronze account. We won both games we played.
Well the best way to win is not feeding so i guess if he just pushes 1 lane he forces someone to respond and then the game is 4v4, if he doesnt feed then hes already doing kinda ok.
I had 2 tanks with a healer (Diablo, LiLi, Johanna) yesterday who fought 3v5 midlane on Volskaya when we had 2 levels up and all the camps taken(2 turrets and heal item).
For some reason i was the only 1 at the obj channeling while my team fought a 3v5 without assassins and obv got destroyed even though i said in chat dont 3v5 an pinged retreat.
They all had somehow 60% wr this season too, and all were lvl 500+ still total pleblets.
I think a less misleading title would be “Player level doesn’t mean everything”
Or even “Player level doesn’t mean as much as you think”
Leave room for nuance, instead of grand hyperbole.
not really hasn’t been for sometime in and out of gaming. ive seen 60 year olds worse then 5 year olds and 20 year olds run circles around 40 years old because they where just better.
time doing something means nothing
Done.
Now that the heat has gone down a bit I agree that not hyperbolizing is the best course.
He was our only tank and he died like 7 times. He never come for objectives until game is lost. Also enemy doesn’t have to respond a diablo push you can casually swing by and clear minion wave from time to time because Diablo can not push hard.
Wow Blizzard mods, you even censor the use of the word that means gender? Do you really consider that word to be obscene/offensive language? You are absolutely pathetic. It is probably a matter of time before you also censor everything on these forums that you don’t agree with. Absolute bunch of losers.
This sums it up pretty well. The only players who feel the need for implementing any sort of system that keeps new players out of their games, are the players who have played thousands of games and still havent improved enough to get out of the MMR range of new players.
I mean, there already is a system in place that prevents new/bad players to show up in your games: its called matchmaking. Climb out of the MMR range of new players and the problem is solved.
Thats also a very good point. But all the players that play QM exclusively (or almost exclusively) dont see the difference. They dont realise how low lvl even the top QM games are.
There is no “mmr range of new players” … play on a low level alt account and you see really bad players who get carried… and their current “unresolved” mmr is diamond/master etc.
Basically the system throws them in at all tiers… and lets chips fall where they may. There are a jack ton of low level account and truly new players in tiers they don’t belong… (mostly plat but also in diamond and master).
They get past 100 games… half of them joke games against other jokers/feeders/totally map blind League of Legends all game laners etc the rest they get carried (mostly by smurfs) then they are free game to continue being the ones who throw games for experienced players in ranked etc.
They might have mechanical skills but thats all… then everyone else has to put up with them, carry them, forced to teach them or just let the game fail with them in them.
Right now none of this matters… a good majority of the playerbase is gone now… Queue is so low pop that I can see some of the same players ever day… no matter what hour. And there are RAINBOW matches galore in QM (Master to Bronze).
Claiming low lvl players are sprinkled over all leagues (ofcourse with no evidence) and than proceed to talk about how the game is dying…
No idea how people can take stuff like that seriously.
You want some real numbers? The current HGC tournament was watched by over 40.000 people at a time every day. Doesnt look like a dying game to me.
Sorry man it just is. If you have played the game as long and as much as I have you would see it for yourself. It is very easy to tell which players are boosted AF in this game. And in the past year that issue has become tenfold. This is why so many players in higher leagues have left to play something else.
Look at past tweets of a lot of GM, Master and pro players and they all have said the same thing about the system as it is now (as gingerly as they have tried to put it.).
I play almost exclusively QM (mostly because I come here when I want to play a certain character so I don’t want to pass through ban/pick phases) ._.
If I encounter someone who tries to “afk” the game, it’s far more frequently a level 1000+ player than it is a low level player. But most of the level 1000+ players I’ve played with do actually play and they tend to play well. Some level 1-100 players are not very good, but I’ve seen that from level 101+ players as well.
Fortunately, most players I’ve encountered at least try to play as well as they can, regardless of their level.
The examples you’ve chosen mainly can be attributed to differences in experience, not simply in time dedicated to being alive. Additionally, the hypothetical situations you’ve listed (or real ones i can’t really tell) are worthy of my pulling a yellow card on ya bc that right there is an anecdote, on top of that one that generally is disprovable. a 60 year old physicist is better than a kindergartner at nearly every single thing there is to be good at.
And that’s just the esport side of the game. Some games, people just would rather be playing than watching and have other esports they’d rather watch. After recently trying it out as an esport, I can say it’s 10x more fun to watch than baseball (for me anyway). Prior to this 2018 HGC, I had only watched SC2, SCBW, and occasionally Hearthstone as an esport.
