Can we please get the old tassadar back now that we’ve had time? I’m really sick of playing games with him doing sub 90k hero damage and being squishier than ming.
I miss him a lot, he needed a few improvements not reworking him to another ranged assassin
He was so unique and more effective early games.
That look more like L2P issue than issue with the hero.
On the other hand, we do need a new hero into his place, a ranged support with shields. Could be some protoss from SC2/
As the second concept/build,it is okay, bring old Tassadar please, but this new one is more wanted.
Give me hope - give me old Tassadar.
old tass is gone. just like old tyrande is gone. blizzard doesn’t want any more interesting hybrid heroes, sorry.
wat? what do you mean “squishier than ming” ? lol…
Tass was changed because his design was unworkable. They had to keep him underpowered so he didn’t break the game, and even underpowered as hell his supporters managed to blow his kit wide open. I don’t think we’ll see a shielding hero like that ever again.
However, I would not be opposed to getting, say, Rohanna as a Support some day. They have no Supports in development right now, but that doesn’t mean one isn’t coming. Of the existing and past supports, only Abathur and Medivh feel like they were specifically designed for that niche, where Tassadar, Tyrande, Zarya, and TLV all kinda fell into it. If a future Healer ends up being more of a Support, they’ll be a Support.
Also, git gud skrub. Tassadar is currently a very strong hero.
complaining about one of the strongest mages currently that’s always picked or banned saying it’s “squishier than ming” as well i’ve never seen such a ridiculous comparison that makes no sense before so this OP made me laugh this time. ![]()
I have no idea how you think he’s squishier than Ming. He has an entire build designed to stick to a target standing still, just AAing them to death.
Besides, they’re two different styles. Tass’ glass cannon punishes formations a lot better with 0 minion block. Ming has more tools to work around formations, because she IS minion blocked.
Sure, old Tass’ kit isn’t a bad thing. But new Tass isn’t really bad either. Having Archon, and now Force Wall baseline and a good setup ult in its place…
I do sympathize with old Tass mains-- Doc Logan, this one’s for you (awesome job on the mosh pit comic)-- but there is surely a place for both.
Maybe one of those picks like Rohana or Selendis can step in as an Adept type unit and get that shield support back. Maybe it can be less binary, too (shield damage means Tass support is basically over).
Guess I’m one of the 1 out of 100 that likes new Tassadar.
Tassadar’s last iteration of design was pretty problematic. He was seen as useless by the vast majority of players and incredibly boring by the top tier.
I’m fine if people like new Tassadar as long as they don’t BS old one.
Considering that most people are casuals in hots and have no clue how to play with such heroes, like Zarya, Medivh, TLV or old Tassadar - I’m not surprised.
L2p issue but with majority of hots community, lmao
It’s hard to take your post seriously. Li-Ming has 1321 base health at level one Tassadar has more base health at level one at 1717. Tassadar can also talent for a shield at 4 and escape or Magic Armor at 13. If you had said Li-Ming seemed safer with her built in escape teleport, you might have a small point. It’s still not a good comparison.
Outside of QM I’ve never seen a Tassadar pull in low hero damage, I know I don’t.
They are not going to revert such a radical rework, they don’t revert smaller reworks. I preferred the old support Tassadar to the current version, but there were good reasons they reworked him already pointed out:
Wait. Are you saying that Tassadar doesn’t deal enough damage?
How would you feel if a random Protoss character with a created name was made and given tassadar’s old kit that wasn’t used in the new kit (shield) and given new abilities to not copy new Tassadar?
Dev saves development time on a new hero, it’s not a rework so I approve, and you get back a support
No, I’m saying that 99% of the time, the old version did more than the new. I leveled tass to level 120 pre rework. I have hundreds of videos of doing 140k+ hero and 80k+ seige, with between 8 and 12 takedowns. This new version, regardless of rank since I play in all ranks, I only ever do over 100k hero damage a handful of times, with maybe 6 takedowns? His slow now is almost unrecognizable. His forcewall CD now is too high at base, and his Q is just…if you’re still getting hit by this when you’re not stunned beyond comprehension, you need to find another game. He has no survival tools if he gets stunned. If he is stunned, he is dead. This is assuming your opponents are platinum or better. At least ming can blink away from ever being stunned in the first place and can maintain a range that requires the nastiest divers in the game to even get close to her. Tassadar’s range difference makes him vastly more vulnerable than ming.
We should have 2 different versions of tassadar with 2 different toolkits. I will admit, this current iteration feels more like what tassadar should be given his lore. His archon talent is now actually useful. His wave clear is great if needed…but suggesting make another hero with the rest of his toolkit without giving him these tools would be bad. Current tass should lose forcewall and gain something different. Force wall was never designed for templars. Old tass aka whatever this hero was called should still use shield, invincibility, some sort of wave clear / storm, and force wall, plus a different ult, maybe one that amps team damage or reduces enemy damage by a percent in a radius for x time as a kind of “aura”. Just an idea…but either way, the old tass I found not only to be more powerful, but also more impactful, and far more fun.
