Naisha's memento is extremely awkward and needs a rework

I have a lot of friends in masters and even GM, also friends who played the game in Open Division last year, also friends who will play in division S this year. If you ask any of them they will all say Maiev is quite broken and worth a first ban/first pick. She just has everything.

And if anyone is going to quote me to say “opinion of high level players don’t matter”, then just don’t cause you don’t know what you are talking about.

She’s gotten what? A dozen nerfs since launch?

The solution is not to keep nerfing her numbers until she’s only playable for 0.0001% of the playerbase.

You could rework her, but continuing to straight up nerf her would be a poor decision

I really don’t understand why you seem to think you need to be elite to play her. Maiev is actually fairly accessible, but her kit has a lot of depth in regards to the plays you can make out of it. She’s just a character that you need to practice mechanically, in particular being quick with your Q on release.

The only thing I can see holding back people is if you play her excessively at QM where you don’t have a competent healer, so often you find yourself having to retreat due to lack of sustain. Or a tank to potentially peel, but I would say having a healer is a more important factor to learning Maiev.

I think this is a perfectly fine balance spot. in fact, she seems to be in an IDEAL position right now

If you cant reset with Maiev simply dont pick it. Its a really good talent, thats why pros always took it.

And after all those nerfs she is still top priotiry just because her whole kit brings too much to the game.

Look here mister. While I don’t generally take this talent (I opt for Bonds of Justice) it has it’s place and it works with what it is.

Honestly I am down to argue with people on why Naisha’s Memento doesn’t fit her playstyle and is generally weaker than other talents on that tier. Constructive discussion anyone?

The single most stupid thing about her kit is how her teleport actually counts for triggering Tether. Fix that and she’d be so much more tolerable already.

Umbral Bind was supposed to punish Heroes for trying to run away from Maiev. It makes no sense that she’s also allowed to break it herself for free stuns, pull, and damage even if people are trying to stick with her.

It fits her playstyle perfectly. Half her kit is designed to feast on clumped Heroes through constant Q resets and AoE Tethering. Having a Talent to make her aa AoE as well makes perfect sense as it reinforces that theme even further.

That would actually be a pretty good nerf to her without killing the hero.

Allright I rephrase what I said. It does fit her playstyle I suppose, I just think it doesn’t bring as much value as the other talent Bonds of Justice. It’s just that it’s way harder to get consistent value out of it in teamfights. When you go in, get the multi tether, cage, and Q’s off there isn’t a lot of time to sit still and AA. Usually when someone like Maiev with no sustain sits and AA’s multiple people she dies easily.

Bonds of Justice leads to team wide and single target increase of damage at the same time. It enhances the best part of Maiev’s kit, her Umbral Bind.

So I guess look at it like this. In the perfect situation, Naisha’s Memento leads to a fair amount of damage spread out across the team. Bonds of Justice leads to a lot of burst damage across a team. However, Bonds of Justice also benefits you in 1v1s and waveclear, while Naisha’s only benefits waveclear slightly (But only for 1 wave unless you can find a reset).

There’s two main builds as of now. The burst engage (W talents) and the sustain spread out damage (Auto attack talents). The reason the latter isn’t as effective is because Maiev has a hard time trading with people in melee range. It’s much better to get in, get your damage dealt, and get out.

Bonds of Justice and Cruel Chains can lead to squishies being 100-0’d. Naisha’s + Whatever that 16 talent is can not do this.

The only place Naisha’s has is to reset 16 AA talent and 20 AA talent. It does not significantly increase your damage. Simply put, Maiev’s time is better spent using W and spam Q rather than trying to find an awkward engage for overall mediocre damage that’s spread out, that’s hard to trade with.

Naishas = more macro focused (mercs)
Bonds = teamfight

That’s basically the difference and why you pick one of the other.

But even then it’s a macro based ability that requires PvP to use? Bonds with 10 charges helps just as much.

Naishas clear camps much faster than bond with 10 stacks. It’s also not that hard to get a reset before the camp is available again because there will be a objective before that happens.

That’s fair. I think however it’s almost always more viable to build for Maievs teamfight, as any old bloke can do macro but her fighting is what makes her scary

It’s just nice to have those kind of options, especially in HL/TL where people sometimes just draft weird things and you need to adapt.
