Lunara and Morales don't exist?

Boy was I wrong. This thread demonstrates that people really do care. I retract my statement.

Agreed. It’s a crap talent. No idea why or how it’s justified as a level 20.

If i had to guess, I’d say it’s because they moved Reinforcements and Caduceus Reactor into earlier tiers, but didnt have the time to fill those blank places with something decent.

That being said, i don’t think second opinion “makes” the grenade build. It’s totally okay to pick the other grenade talents and skip this one.

When I referred to “you” I meant Volun. That’s the person I’m directing it towards. I’m not saying “you” in a general sense of everyone, but rather to one particular person. If you read it a little bit better, you would know that. But once again, you would intentionally misinterpret it to eke out a little quip. No one that is reading this would be that dumb.

It’s not that they are poor. It’s that I don’t care about your feelings, and I’m just gonna say it how it is. Not to mention that the people who disagree with me are the people who can’t read a paragraph because it hurts their head, so I won’t even bother.

This feels hard for me to agree on. Second Opinion to me feels like a core aspect of the Grenade build, as it’s very good for getting quick shield stacks, quick Energy gains, AND faster stacking if Clear isn’t done by 13.
With it moved to 20 on a harder competitive talent tree, it feels like the entire E build is hurt really hard by it. At that point it would seem best to try out a different build that gets benefits and synergy from more talent tiers than just a few early ones and call it a day.

That’s what I thought at first too. But then if you play with it and think about it, because her Reinforcements were baked in baseline, a lot of her other 20s are sort of overkill. With second opinion, grenade build actually presents ANOTHER level of synergy that wasn’t there before. Firing off grenades every 2 seconds and to regenerate your shield while pumping out 7% damage to go along with it can be incredibly powerful.

I still would have preferred if it was left at 13, but as is, it still works remarkably well.

LoL, who are you kidding, that “you” you’re describing isn’t anyone. It’s a person you made up in your mind. As if somehow choosing grenade build means they get amnesia and forgot every other aspect about her kit.

oh shoot i accidentally went w build on ana the other day. Forgot how to use e that entire game. oh well built for w, at least i was landing those.

You can not be serious. You can’t just decide to change what my words mean and how I mean them. It’s actual insanity.

Yet people who I see play this build don’t know how to play the rest of her character. They can’t take beam off to regen, they can’t position right, they watch people die when they could have saved them but were too busy watching their grenade fly and hit a fort wall hoping to get a ding.

Also btw, the grenade itself doesn’t deal 6% damage of a target’s maximum HP (yet you say 7 omegalul). You have to follow up with an AA, which at 13 and above, AAing at 5.5 range will be hard to do.

LoL, well when it came to old owl build on Tyrande, I would have said this.

But after you learn how to E, some day, I’ll learn how to AA at 5.5 range. I mean it’s such a novel concept that is so hard to master considering that 90% of other ranged heroes also have that range.

I’ve learned how to E with grenade before you learned the difference of what a siege camp and bruiser camp is. Try again.

I would tell you how wrong this is, but I think it’d be best if you made a new forum thread, asking others how this works. Because characters like Jaina, Tychus, Nazeebo, ZJ, Valla, Falstad, Zagara, Azmodan, Fenix, Tracer, Genji, Sylvanas, KTZ, et cetera have a very specific reason why their AA range is 5.5 and why Morales, in particular, doesn’t want to be in 5.5 AA range.

The talent says 6%…

I apologize, I misread. From reading off the HeroesProfile page I thought it looked more like an 8 than 6. I’ll adjust.

E build comes online after 20 when you get second opinion, which is too long imo and it’s not even a power boost like Naz or Aduin.

Pre-20, E is used to push ranged assassin away from combat, push enemy toward your team and occasinally push merc closer so your ally AoE can hit them all.

All of this you can do with just baseline E, the only exception is the level 4 talen shield building one. But to get value of out it you need to spam a lot of E, and 12s cooldown (9s if you finish level 1 quest) is not something you spam and hope it’s ready when you need it. E should be saved for crucial moment only.

I find E is a fun and feel good build to play, but if I want to win, I go to

  • Q build if there are many small skirmishes to turn Q on and off like a switch to refill energy.
  • AA build if there are 2-3 front-line enemies.
  • W build if there are a lot of burst or dangerous one.

Did you know, if you combine Trauma Trigger (lv4 talent), Medi-drone (lv7 talent) and First Responder (lv16 talent), you are really hard to kill as long as you W on yourself, have more than 60 energy (Life Support lv1 talent helps) and keep your Q on someone (that is not at full health).

Grenade build is bad? :thinking:

It has the highest winrate at high ranks. Winrate is not everything? True. Clear! is at 63% wr and 19% pop. After that Caduceus Feedback with 53% wr and 20% pop. After that Life Support with 46% wr and 61% pop.
(Also Second Opinion is at 8% pop but I don’t think that’s necessary for E build.)
So the stats say that E build is the best build. (And its lvl 20 is meh.)

Plenty Lunaras at every rank, Morales I see her far less on higher ranks.

Lunara’s 1 has to be “winsp” or she loses the match. And I also think speed on 20 is really too late (I also always go Boundless anyway…), but I think baseline would be broken and bad, better in the middle of the tree like cassia or yrel. and about abolishing magic… I’d not know, since I go spell shield (and it’s a pity because she’s the only range with something similar and it should be more baseline).

Morales is fun to play, I always go medivac on 10, because I like to have ice block and mobility, not for juicy stuff… and now the cd is crazy. I like different builds, it depends on the opposite team. I do think she really should get speed somewhere tho, and also a bit of more energy reagen.

I personally find morales one of the harder heroes to play due to mass amounts of damage my team can take.

It’s not that I don’t like playing her necessarily, it’s more of a chore to keep my team alive and lean more towards heals that can sustain a whole team better

Oh wow another person who likes boundless strikes. And here i was thinking Intensifying Toxin was the go to pick.

Even though the stats show it’s performing pretty badly at all ranks, it’s just a super fun talent to have a deer leaping constantly. Start filtering it at higher ranks, it’s win rate jumps up for those who enjoy using it. If Bambi’s mother had that talent, maybe she wouldn’t have died.

But that’s the thing, if people use something, and it’s working for them, who cares about the popularity. People sometimes said I was an idiot for picking Medivac even though we had AA heroes, but I didn’t care, it’s always been a super good ability as a shield/escape. It’s also just super fun to shuttle across the map quickly.

People get so precious about what they pick that they pick, they somehow think it has to be forced on everyone else, which sort of defeats the purpose of having talents.

I played lunara way before the buffs . She is one of my favorites . I think the main reason not many people play her is because her damage takes time to be effective and also they don’t use the W after hitting the enemy or at least they don’t know how to properly use it. also you need a good positioning and many players just get way too close to the enemy as if they were playing a melee hero.
