Yeah. Always did wonder how 2.0. could make them more money then pre.

I guess they just followed the F2P model blindly.

i said it was a mistake too.
…but hey i got a crap ton of chests on 2.0 release. vet player plus all my hero levels. something i always thought was the 1.0 model was more profitable to them.

but i really think this had something to do with what Mike Morhaime said about D3. he said that he did not want the team to monetize D3 and just give the players everything for free. its probably one of the worst things i have ever heard in a ‘business’ sense. from the player perspective its great… but how do you keep things running on ‘FREE’.

right? Blizz is not a charity.

For a full price game it’s great. For a F2P game, it defeats the purpose.
