Imperius' trait is a gimped copy of Orphea's

Orphea can’t get more than 3 stacks at a time and she uses up all of it on 1 target, while Imperius can gain 3 on every Hero so he can have even 15 stacks all at once.

So Orphea has the “burst” version of this trait as the burst mage while Imperius has the sustained dmg version as the bruiser.

It requires more skills because it interacts with what skill was used, that’s the key difference.

The level 1 to level 16 talent comparison isn’t really all that fair, as it’s a level 1 talent.

I’d like to point out that Imperius can proc his trait on multiple targets with his level 7 Cleave talent if he so chooses, and that with his trait he can’t waste marks by hitting too many people with his abilities unlike Orphea. Orphea can overcap on how many stacks she has on people, while Imperius is much more efficient. Albeit his is a bit harder to burn the charges on.

As for his level 7 saving his cooldowns for a combo, it’s not difficult to do since you just need to hit them with W then use Q on them within 10 seconds, and if you’re going for the most burst damage then you can indeed dump both abilities into someone. It’s also a mechanic that Orphea’s trait cannot have because of how it functions.

Imperius is also a melee character who is tanky and has decent engage options, Sylv is a squishy ranged character who has a delayed disengage option. He can land autos pretty easily.

I use the level 20 Vorpal copy sometimes, mainly to kill higher mobility characters and to hard engage off of hitting W then waiting a little bit, sometimes to dodge. It’s satisfying to use and something Orphea’s trait can’t even remotely think of doing.

Now if you want to argue that Orphea has a stronger kit as a whole to Imperius, fine. However you wanted me to point out how Imperius’ trait is not just a weaker version of Orphea’s. Well here’s why, Imperius can have more unique mechanics on his trait than Orphea and his encourages you to hit someone with your CC then stick with them while your E is going for more damage. Orphea’s encourages you to throw an auto out immediately after every cast because she can get multiple stacks per ability cast and runs the risk of overcapping otherwise.

Which is enough of a difference that I can comfortably call them unique. Otherwise I can call Mal’s trait (healing on all damage) a worse Illidan trait (healing and CDR on AAs). They’re similar, but how they function in the kit is what changes everything about it.

I don’t see why I should but whatever, I’m up for the task.

And Orhpea is a mage, Imperius is a bruiser.

What does this mean? Well first off, Imperius has far more HP, sustain and CC for keeping enemies in place.

The main difference between the two is that Imperius can have just enough burst verses Orphea’s easily accessible burst.

Now, imagine if say, you did hit someone with one of orphea’s combo, but they left, barely getting away while assassins where trying to get in there.

Imagine same scenario, Imperius did his combo, keeping the target in one place while assassins autoed them.

Let’s also not forget to mention that imperius does more base damage than orphea, getting more out of base autos than her. Now this doesn’t sound like much but when combined with an AA enhancer like his holy fervor, he can actually get out as much AoE damage as orphea, or enable more damage to be done.

Not true, things like flash of anger matter a lot, plus if you’re not autoing within 10 seconds of orphea, what exactly are you doing? You get 1 auto off that imperius would’ve easily gotten out with his burst combo. Woopity do.

I don’t care to. If you don’t realize or recognize the difference between hero playstyles beyond just what their damn trait is, then I can only acknowledge you as a lost cause.

I haven’t gone up against a Samuro as Imperius yet, but do you know how his trait works on the clones?

did you miss the part where you DON’T HAVE TO stack up all 3 stacks in order for the trait to work ?

I mean that’s like HUGE difference, and frankly not like you should stack it much either, you may gain a burst but lessen your DPS in total, so it’s a fine trait in that regard = have to decide whether you keep and hit each mark or just stack them like no tomorrow and THEN hit multiple

You don’t have to stack all three for Orphea either.
It is very similar, I mean even his E is very similar to arthas E, I might even think Arthas E does more damage, only difference is his slows and Imperious E heals, which I think needs a major buff, he can’t sustain himself at all while Orphea can sustain herself with healing better than a bruiser can which is odd.
Actually Arthas E does like twice the amount of damage Imperious E does, and it slows up to 40 percent and you can run it for how long as you like, depending on yeah it soaks up a lot of mana but one can say Imperious E is just a way worse version of Arthas E.

Thanks to xentenxex and caius my mind has been changed.

It applies to all clones equally as well as humans. If he swaps though Samuro should purge it as his swap purges basically everything that D.Va MEKA would purge.

I guess you’ll be stuck on raynor and tychus for a while then loll

the hilarious thing is you have to waste a talent slot just to get a heal like orphea gets baseline xD
