I was doing X before it was cool!

I don’t agree with this. It’s just so little siege damage for such a long and vital teamfight ult.

I’m not really sure what would’ve changed since then that made it more okay then than it is now.

Although I’m sure one can argue that “Well, my team is so incredibly useless that even if I use ult in a fight, it wont matter, so might as well just throw it on towers”. But that’s a slippery slope. Because that’s the thought process of a troll, to abandon the teamfight, to do illogical things, because your team is worthless, so might as well throw the game by using a 2 minute teamfight ult on a little bit of siege damage.

It’d be like a kerrigan using Maelstrom for a bit of regular waveclearing or something.

It never became popular but I used to pick speed demon on diablo pretty frequently when many said it was a bad talent. Now sadly the talent has been deleted from the game…

I don’t remember this talent at all. Based on a simple guess; movement speed after a charge? Or something different?

You would be granted movement speed after being stunned or rooted. The perfect time to get a speed boost if you are a tank!

I can only comment that I made it work with old murky.

Maybe my “almost 70%” WR should have been “75%+”.

But given how well I did with the “weak ult” I think my opinion is reasonable.

I feel like either I explained it poorly, or you did not read my post. I’m unsure which.

If fights ended in ways where MotM was unhelpful, or the enemy team played good against it, I would consciously choose to use it against buildings.

Especially given I did keep track of objective spawns/similar. So typically, unless I messed up timing, MotM was usable in objectives.

Also a large part of it’s damage was aiming, when I did use it, it was exclusively against positions with gates dead, or from other side to maximize “useful” damage. Every little bit helps. That thoughtful usage of it for siege may be what made it work for me outside of fights. Who knows.

Or maybe I just played Murky well enough my ult didn’t matter?

I don’t really care about some arbitrary winrate. Without proper context as well as other info it’s rather meaningless and doesn’t prove or indicate anything.

If MotM was an ult where “it’s pointless to use it against the enemy is they played good against it”, doesn’t that make it a completely useless ult that can’t be used in high level play? An ult that is only good against noobs?

I sorta get the other way. You win a teamfight big time over the objective, 4 kills, and you didn’t need to use ult. So you might as well throw it on a fort for some damage as it’ll be ready for the next objective.

But again, there’s more than just objectives. There could also be random skirmishes or fights over bosses or mercs or just a spontanous big fight despite no objective.

I just don’t agree with the logic here. It’s a huge throw away of a huge CD. I can’t imagine any scenarios where I would throw away a 2min ult CD on account of “Yeah, there’s no way there’ll be any teamfights, big or small, for 2 minutes.”

This might be it. Or the 25% losses of yours are the ones where you threw away your ults. :stuck_out_tongue:

If only I hadn’t given away the laptop that would had that replays…
Not that HotS would have let me watch them, but I could at least pretend to have reviewed-- I mean, I REVIEWED ALL THE REPLAYS and it clearly shows ALL OF MY losses was my teammates! NEVER ME! I am CLEARLY GRANDMASTER#1 if not for my teammates!

almost any random fight pre-20, as Murky (At least older Murky) you should be soaking/pushing, not taking “random fights”.

So I would say in most case these “random fights” are not relevant to this. Although post-20, if I was pushing and fights happened, that would be a very valid criticism of my play. AS I CLEARLY reviewed all the games like I said above on the laptop i gave away before reviewing the games, that NEVER HAPPENED ONCE, I NEVER MADE ANY MISTAKES1111111111!\

if you’re playing a “split-push/soak” hero and your team is taking random fights over nothing you’ve likely already lost because your team doesn’t understand your team composition. Exceptions noted.

Murky is great at smaller skirmishes. Murky is great at soaking but his pushing damage isn’t worth much, since slime doesn’t work on structures. I find it’s best to soak quickly, then move along and get mercs or harras the enemy whenever possible. Lategame Murky excels in duels too.

Murky can do that without much risk compared to other heroes.

And that’s the point. There’s plenty of exceptions. You never know what happens. Maybe what started as a 1v1 started turning into a bigger and bigger fight as more and more people arrive to assist their allies.

Or maybe the enemy team all of a sudden decides to dive big time for your team. Or they go all in on a bruiser camp steal. And wouldn’t it be a huge pity if there was a big chance to pop MotM on the enemy over a bruiser camp, but it was on CD cuz you used it for siege?

Or what if the enemy decides to do a boss camp? Or what if the enemy decides to just ignore your splitpush and decisively pushes a lane? Maybe they’re doing it because they know you just burnt your teamfight ult?

does listening to dubstep count?
because i was listening to dubstep before a lot of you were wearing diapers!

Same here. Sort of. I don’t mind going for the meta. But I truly love figuring out new ways to do things. Being the one that makes a new meta. Or being the one that has better success than the ones following the meta.
